Ice hockey is most popular in North America,
Canada, Europe and some places in the
United States
Some facts
 Not only boys play ice hockey, girls does
also play.
 The diameterof a hockey puck is three
inches.
 The first organized indoor ice hockey
game was played in 1875.
 The fastest slap shot on record is Bobby
Hull’s which registered118 miles per hour.
 Before games, hockey pucks are frozen to
preventthem from bouncing during the
game.

How to play ice hockey
Ice hockey is a team sport played on ice. The
players have ice skates on and use the
hockey sticks to shoot the puck into the other
teams net to score points. A team usually
consists of four lines of three forwards, three
pairs of defensemen, and two goalies. It is six
players per team including the goaltender.
Each team has a goaltenderwho tries to stop
the puck from going into the net.
Sidney Crosby
Sidney is a Canadian professional ice hockey
player. Born August 7, 1987. He is the captain
of the team Pittsburgh Penguins and his
nickname is ”The next one”. His position is
centre. Crosby began playing hockey by
himself in his basement at the age of two and
learned to skate when he was three years old.
Crosby began attracting mediaattention for
his play at age seven.
