Observed climate change could affect water availability in the future. Changes also occurred Kupang city in recent decades, an increase in the magnitude of the damage caused by drought due to climate change. In an attempt to explore the effects of drought can be aggravated by climate change. in this paper, the author will be analyze impact of changes in the water balance in Kupang city. To achieve that, the author will use the procedure consists of two procedures: Temperature and precipitation are modeled under two typical emission A1FI and B1 scenarios evaluated in this study for future projections in Kupang, discharge simulations using rainfall Mock generated daily rainfall and water balance monthly Data analysis WEAP (water Evaluation and Planning System) based simulation Mock. Due to the significant uncertainty involved in forecasting future water consumption and water yield, the author will use the three scenarios assumed water consumption and water three outcome scenarios. Three scenarios of water consumption, ie, "Low", "Medium" and "High" in accordance with the expected number of water consumption. Disposal obtained from mock simulations during the simulation period. Finally, the water balance analysis conducted by WEAP based on a combination of the three scenarios of water consumption. With this procedure, it is possible to explore different scenarios of water consumption and water results and the results of this study can be used to establish the proper planning to minimize the impact of drought on water availability to support water requirement due to climate change in Kupang city.

Surface waters are generally viewed as a hydrologic continuum, flowing from inland water sources through estuaries to the open oceans. The GEO Working Group on Earth Observations of Inland and Near-Coastal Waters (WA-01-C4) has organised the Water Quality Summit in Geneva 20-22nd April 2015 with the aim of charting the future of earth observation and in situ measurements based global water quality monitoring and forecasting systems. The relationship to GEO Blue Planet lies in the coastal zone. There is a crucial need for timely, accurate, and widespread assessment and monitoring and forecasting of inland and near-coastal water quality. However, existing measurement and forecasting capabilities have significant logistical, technical, and economic challenges and constraints, impacting both developed and developing nations. This summit was endorsed by GEO as a part of the water quality task (WA-01-C4) and the GEOSS Water Strategy with the mission to deliver, on a routine and sustained basis, timely, consistent, accurate and fit-for -purpose water quality data products and information to support water resource management and decision making in coastal and inland waters. The Summit goal is to define specific requirements of the water quality system components and develop a plan to implement integrated global end-to-end water quality monitoring and forecasting service. We present the results of this meeting: Development of a strategic implementation and a phased action plan including baseline and threshold service build-outs, with both a short-term and a long-term plan for a global-scale water quality monitoring and forecasting service. Some feedback will be given on the CEOS–GEOSS Water Strategy Implementation plan as well as other international related activities.

In this paper we are investigating the possibility of usage of remote sensing satellite data, more precisely sentinel-3 OLCI and SLSTR data, for assessment of bathing water quality. In this research we used data driven approach and analysis of data in order to pinpoint aspects of remote sensing data that can be useful for bathing water quality assessment. For this purpose we collected satellite images for period from start of June till end of September of 2019 and results of in-situ measurement for the same period . Results of in-situ measurement were correlated with satellite images bands and analyzed. We propose a simple method for rapid assessment of possible deterioration of bathing water quality to be used by public health authorities for better planning of in situ measurements. Results of implementation of predictive models based on k-nearest neighbour (KNN) and decision tree (DT) are described.

Extraction of water bodies from satellite imagery has been broadly explored in the current decade. So many techniques were involved in detecting of the surface water bodies from satellite data. To detect and extracting of surface water body changes in Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir, Andhra Pradesh from the period 1989 to 2017, were calculated using Landsat-5 TM, and Landsat-8 OLI data. Unsupervised classification and spectral water indexing methods, including the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI), Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), and Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), were used to detect and extraction of the surface water body from satellite data. Instead of all index methods, the MNDWI was performed better results. The Reservoir water area was extracted using spectral water indexing methods (NDVI, NDWI, MNDWI, and NDMI) in 1989, 1997, 2007, and 2017. The shoreline shrunk in the twenty-eight-year duration of images. The Reservoir Nagarjuna Sagar lost nearly around one-fourth of its surface water area compared to 1989. However, the Reservoir has a critical position in recent years due to changes in surface water and getting higher mud and sand. Maximum water surface area of the Reservoir will lose if such decreasing tendency follows continuously.

Groundwater is used for domestic, industrial water supply and for irrigation all over the world. The groundwater quality is a function of natural processes as well as anthropogenic activities. The safe potable water is enormously essential for living and groundwater is one of the sources for human consumption in both urban as well as rural areas. The area is located in the survey of India toposheet Number 57 J/3 lying between east 780 00’ 0 ’’ to 780 15’ 0 ” longitudes and 140 15’ 0 ’’ to 140 30’ 0 ’’ North latitudes covering an area of 720 sq. kms. Geologically, it is underlain mainly by Peninsular gneisses of Archean age followed by Gulcheru and Vemapalli formations comprising quartzites, conglomerates, dolomites and shales. Major geomorphic units are denudational hills, residual hills, pediments, pediplains, structural hills and valleys. The study area experiences a semiarid climate. Physicochemical parameters viz., pH, total hardness, calcium, chloride, total dissolved solids, fluoride were analyzed. Most of parameter show higher value than permissible limit in pre and post monsoon. Further, a moderation in water quality was observed after the monsoon season, which can be attributed to a possible dilution due to groundwater recharge People dependent on this water may prone to health hazard. Therefore some effective measures are urgently required to enhance the quality of water in these areas

Abstract : In this paper multi sensor satellite data i.e. IRS LISS III or Landsat TM/ETM+ or OCEANSAT- 1(IRS-P4) consisting of an Ocean Color Monitoring operating in eight spectral band data are used for extracting information useful to hydrological projects such as monitoring the water quality of lakes. Changes of the area extent of the lakes are estimated from the multitemporal satellite images. Surface water temperature patterns of the lakes are mapped and anomalies are identified. Emphasis is given on the investigation of capabilities of IRS LISS III or Landsat TM/ETM+ or OCEANSAT-1(IRS-P4) data in monitoring water quality of lakes. A classification scheme regarding various water quality parameters (Secchi depth, Turbitidity, Chlorophylle –α and Total Total phosphorus) is created based on combinations of different bands.
