A mobile phone is a portable device that allows users to make telephone calls wirelessly using a radio link while on the move. It connects to a cellular network provided by a mobile network operator to access the public telephone network. The first mobile phone call was demonstrated in 1973 and the first commercial mobile phone was released in 1983. Mobile phone ownership has grown exponentially, reaching over 6 billion subscriptions globally and 87% of the world population by 2011.
2. A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell
phone, and a hand phone) is a phone that can make
and receive telephone calls over a radio linkwhile
moving around a wide geographic area. It does so by
connecting to a cellular network provided by a mobile
phone operator, allowing access to thepublic telephone
network. By contrast, a cordless telephone is used only
within the short range of a single, private base station.
3. The first hand-held cell phone was demonstrated
by John F. Mitchelland Dr Martin
Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset
weighing around 2.2 pounds (1 kg). In 1983,
the DynaTAC 8000x was the first to be commercially
available. From 1990 to 2011, worldwide mobile
phone subscriptions grew from 12.4 million to over
6 billion, penetrating about 87% of the global
population and reaching the bottom of the
economic pyramid.
4. Mobile networks & types:-
•Cell phones works on a
network(radio link),this network
forwards and recieves telphone calls.
•These networks are provided by a
network operators through a sim
card.
Types:-
•1G
•2G (GSM/CDMA).
•3G (GSM/CDMA).
•4G (GSM).
5. 1G (FIRST GENERATION):-
•1G network is known as First generation
network of wireless comunication.
•1G radio signals are analog signals
•1G is started in 1980.
•In 1G network we can forward and receive
calls.
6. 2G (SECOND GENERATION NETWORK):-
•2G network is generally known as second
generation network.
•In 2G network we can forward and recive calls, text
messaging, and allowing transfer of data, and can
send MMS(multimedia message).
•On compared to 1G network 2G network signal is
digitalised and increased penetration levels.
7. 3G (THIRD GENERATION):-
•3G network known as Third generation network.
•In 3G network we can forward and receive
calls,text mesaging,MMS,DATA services,& also video
calling.
•It is faster than 2G.speed of DATA is upto 7 mbps
8. 4G (FOURTH GENERATION):-
•4G is known as Fourth generation network.
•4G network is simmilar to 3G network but its faster
than 3G.
•4G network can be used as a wireless broadband
internet.
•Its data speed is upto 100 mbps.
12. SMART PHONES:-
* A smartphone (or smart phone) is a mobile
phone with more advanced computing capability
and connectivity than basic feature phones.
Early smartphones typically combined the
features of a mobile phone with those of another
popular consumer device, such as a personal
digital assistant (PDA), a media player, a digital
camera, or a GPS navigation unit. Modern
smartphones include all of those features plus
the features of a touchscreen computer,
including web browsing, Wi-Fi, and 3rd-
partyapps.
