barriers for their progress in their everyday lives. Men are seen dominant for jobs and hard work.
Though they do get pushed down for certain circumstances, it is not as nearly as much as women
do. Aside from assaults of all kind and being demoted on a regular basis, women are treated unfairly
and are seen dominant for stereotypical matters. Gender discrimination influences one's mind to

Men are portrayed as far more superior than women, which explains why many obstacles stop
women from fulfilling their full potential and being treated unfairly. What people fail to see is

throughout history women have been known to stay home with the children, cook, clean, and
take care of whatever else that needed to be done at home. While men have been known as the
one who goes to work to make money to support the family. Nowadays, women want to go to
work to help take care of the family financially and make it known that women can also be

Where you can find gender discrimination is in a workplace, where women are typically more
subjected to it. A woman that is more qualified for a job may be rejected for a less qualified

Good morning/afternoon Harmony Day Committee. Prejudice can come in many forms, but none
are more infamous than gender discrimination, primarily in the workplace whether subtle or upfront.
Gender inequality is an age old problem and continues to thrive in places such as the workplace. It is

Gender inequality continues to be a constant battleground in many societies today. Humanity
requires both genders, we are both equal and need each other. Yet women are being constantly

Personal Reaction The reason why I chose this article was because as a female I found it
interesting to see how women are treated differently due to prejudice in the workplace, especially
women who are in positions of power. In addition, as a woman who would like to work in the
corporate business world, I found it intriguing that a feature as simple as hair colour, can have a
major impact on how people perceive others. As a Muslim woman who wears a Hijab, I have
never really faced prejudice based on my hair, but I have faced prejudice for covering my hair.
This sounds contradictory, which is why I found the article to be of great interest. In addition,

You know that feeling. When you can feel the blood gathering in your cheeks, your clammy fists
clench, and your limbs tingle, wanting to spring out and smash something. Then you yell, whine,

Every year in August, my family on my mom's side gathers at my aunt and uncle's house for a

It seems that women workers have reached a plateau in society. In order for women to be
respected (as men are) in the workplace there needs to be a redistribution of domestic and family
work. It's acceptable now for women to work; but this acceptance into the workforce has not
drastically changed what they, women, are expected to perform at home. There is no way for
women to move forward to equality in pay if they are not recognized as contributers to their job
(i.e. women are still expected to perform outside of work in the family setting as well in a way that
men are only expected to perform at work and not at home).
As soon as more domestic and family work is allocated to men then women will be able to attain
equal pay. Women, with less work at home, will be able to commit to full time jobs, have to leave
the workforce less, take less leave, and be able to climb the corporate ladder just as men are today.

The Bias Ideas Of Discrimination In The Workplace
The meaning of discrimination is the bias opinions towards something that people may not be
familiar with. I was surrounded by the ideas of discrimination since I was little, though I have
never noticed. I was born in China, where people can barely find foreigners, at least lot less than
the american; also when the time I was born gender equality was common, therefore most of the
discriminations was based on region, wealth and degrees of education. I remembered always
hearing the adults say that people are rude from such places, or people are all thieves from such
area. Those "theories" start to become a common knowledge, no one will doubt it if people mention
them. Of course I did not know that those are discrimination, but just because I heard so many of
them, those ideas turn into a subconscious of mine. In my memory, I have never been
discriminated when I was a kid, probably was made fun by people because the disadvantage of
my height, but I didn't really pay attention to it. When I look back into my childhood, the reason
discrimination did not brother me was not because I lived in a fair society, was because I was
born in a upper family within a big city. Most of the neighbours, classmates and friends of my
parents that I encounter with were all having a similar background. Everything was looking ordinary
for me at that time, however, that peace start to fall apart after I know I will come to the states.

Our social justice issue is gender discrimination. Gender Discrimination is a major thing going on
in our world today. Therefore, gender discrimination happens in things such as sports, education,
health, employment, laws, and in different countries. Gender discrimination was a major thing in
the past, and is still a major thing today. Men continually think women are weak, and so women
are targeted more in crimes. They also think that women won't stand up for themselves, and
women continually let men bring them down because they aren't brave enough. In jobs they
believe women won't work, and that women aren't capable enough to do the job, so women end
up getting paid less or have to work ridiculously short hours. Today in our century, women are
targeted more than men because they are considered weak. Being labeled weak makes women are
more vulnerable to at least one form of abuse. 1 in 3 women are abused in some form at a time of
their life by a man. Women are targeted for crimes, such as home break–ins, because if they live on
their own, they are thought to not be able to defend themselves that well. Women are also being
killed all the time. In India, women are burned to death if they can't meet financial requirements,
while men aren't. In Egypt, women are killed if they do something considered unclean in their
