People celebrate this holiday in houses and restaurants or other public places around the world. People celebrate this holiday because it only comes once a year and they want to forget about the past and think about the new year.
4. On New Year’s Eve, many people stay up until midnight and watch different celebrations on television. One very popular one happens in New York in Times Square. Thousands of people gather in Times Square and countdown the last 10 seconds of the old year.
