Judges 17-21
Tribe of Dan & Idolatry;
United Against Sin Yet God Allows Them To Lose;
America In The Bible In Judges
Let’s read Judges 17
Judges 17:2, Micah The Thief
• NAU Judges 17:2 He said to his mother, "The eleven
hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you,
about which you uttered a curse in my hearing, behold,
the silver is with me; I took it." And his mother said,
"Blessed be my son by the LORD.”
• The “every man did what was right in his eyes” apparently
also applied to mothers. Judges 17:6
• NAU Exodus 22:1 "If a man steals an ox or a sheep and
slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for the ox
and four sheep for the sheep.
• NAU Exodus 22:4 “If…found alive in his possession… he
shall pay double.
• NAU Proverbs 6:31 But when he is found, he must repay
sevenfold…
• No blessing him!
Judges 17:7, Jonathan
• NAU Judges 17:7 Now there was a young man
from Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of
Judah, who was a Levite; and he was staying
there.
• In Judges 18:30 he is called Jonathan. He’s a
grandson of Moses, a Levite, he is apostate,
not living in a levitical city, a priest for hire to
the highest bidder, and not afraid to use idols.
Judges 18
Dan the missing tribe,
Judges 18:1, The Danite’s Inheritance
• NAU Judges 18:1 In those days there was no king of Israel;
and in those days the tribe of the Danites was seeking an
inheritance for themselves to live in, for until that day an
inheritance had not been allotted to them as a possession
among the tribes of Israel.
• NAU Judges 1:34 Then the Amorites forced the sons of
Dan into the hill country, for they did not allow them to
come down to the valley;
• NAU Joshua 19:40-47 The seventh lot fell to the tribe of
the sons of Dan according to their families….
• Dr. Ryrie says, “the Amorites had forced the Danites into
the mountain areas of their allotted territory (1:34).”
• That doesn’t give them the right to steal.
Judges 18:7, Laish= Leshem
• NAU Judges 18:7 Then the five men departed and
came to Laish and saw the people who were in it
living in security, after the manner of the Sidonians,
quiet and secure; for there was no ruler humiliating
them for anything in the land, and they were far
from the Sidonians and had no dealings with
anyone.
• NAU Joshua 19:47 The territory of the sons of Dan
proceeded beyond them; for the sons of Dan went
up and fought with Leshem and captured it. Then
they struck it with the edge of the sword and
possessed it and settled in it; and they called
Leshem Dan after the name of Dan their father.

• Why-is-Dan-missing-in-Rev-7-3
• By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope
• There’s a very interesting hidden message in chapter 7 of the book of Revelation, but before I reveal it let’s understand
the context in which the list of the 12 tribes is given and why the tribe of Dan is missing.
• This list in Revelation 7 identifies the 144,000 witnesses who will preach the gospel and testify of Jesus during the
seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9). This is a period of seven years that is commonly referred to as the Tribulation. The
144,000 will include 12,000 men selected from 12 tribes. The tribe of Dan, one of the original 12 tribes of Israel, has
been omitted from the list and Joseph’s son, Manasseh, has been added. What’s the explanation for this? And could
there be a hidden message by omitting Dan and adding Manasseh?
• The 12 Tribes of Israel
• The 12 tribes of Israel are the 12 sons of Jacob, born to him by Leah, Rachel, Bilhah (Rachel’s handmaid) and Zilpah
(Leah’s handmaid). The birth order is Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Dan, Nephthalim, Gad, Aser, Issachar, Zabulon,
Joseph and Benjamin. (Genesis 35:23-26; Exodus 1:1-4; 1 Chronicles 2:1-2).
• Whenever a listing of the 12 tribes varies from the list of Jacob’s sons there is a reason. Sometimes the reason is clearly
understood. For example, in the division of the land (Joshua 13-19) the tribes of Levi and Joseph are omitted. Levi was
omitted because it was the priestly tribe and they were given cities throughout the land. Although Joseph’s name is
omitted in the land distribution, the tribe of Joseph is actually represented through Joseph’s sons. The tribe of Joseph

Judges 18:30, Dan Missing?
• By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope, “Let’s now rearrange the
names in the order in which they are listed in Revelation 7:7-8
with the meaning next to each:
• Judah: Praise the Lord,
• Reuben: He has looked on my affliction
• Gad: good fortune comes
• Asher: happy and blessed am I
• Napthali: my wrestling
• Manasseh: has made me forget my sorrow
• Simeon: God hears me
• Levi: has joined me
• Issachar: rewarded me
• Zebulun: exalted me
• Joseph: adding to me
• Benjamin: the Son of His right hand.”
Judges 18:30, Dan Missing?
• By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope, “The Meaning of the Names in
the Order of Revelation 7
• Now let’s string together the meaning of the
names and read the message:
• Praise the Lord. He has looked on my affliction
[and] good fortune comes. Happy and blessed
am I. My wrestling has made me forget my
sorrow. God hears me, has joined me,
rewarded me, exalted me [by] adding to me
the Son of His right hand.”
Judges 18:30, Dan & Idolatry
• NAU Judges 18:30 …Dan set up… the graven
image…
• NAU 1 Kings 12:28 So the king consulted, and
made two golden calves, and he said to them,
"It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem;
behold your gods, O Israel, that brought you
up from the land of Egypt." 29 He set one in
Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.
• NAU 2 Kings 10:29 …the golden calves … at
Dan.
Judges 18:30, The Captivity
• NAU Judges 18:30 …he and his sons were
priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day
of the captivity of the land.
• Dr. Ryrie pg. 308, says, “… either a reference to
the deportation by Tiglath-Pileser III of Assyria
in 733 – 732 (2 Kings 15:29) or to the time of
the exile of the ark from Shiloh in the 11th
century BC (1 Sam. 4:11). Verse 31 may favor
the latter view.”
Judges 19
• The reason for the Civil War
Judges 19:1-4
• NAU Judges 19:1 Now it came about in those days, when
there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite
staying in the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim,
who took a concubine for himself from Bethlehem in
Judah. 2 But his concubine played the harlot against him,
and she went away from him to her father's house in
Bethlehem in Judah, and was there for a period of four
months. 3 Then her husband arose and went after her to
speak tenderly to her in order to bring her back, taking
with him his servant and a pair of donkeys. So she
brought him into her father's house, and when the girl's
father saw him, he was glad to meet him. 4 His father-in-
law, the girl's father, detained him; and he remained with
him three days. So they ate and drank and lodged there….
Judges 19:8-10
• 8 On the fifth day he arose to go early in the morning,
and the girl's father said, "Please sustain yourself, and
wait until afternoon"; so both of them ate. 9 When the
man arose to go along with his concubine and servant,
his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, "Behold
now, the day has drawn to a close; please spend the
night. Lo, the day is coming to an end; spend the night
here that your heart may be merry. Then tomorrow you
may arise early for your journey so that you may go
home." 10 But the man was not willing to spend the
night, so he arose and departed and came to a place
opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). And there were with
him a pair of saddled donkeys; his concubine also was
with him.
Judges 19:16-22
• 16 Then behold, an old man was coming out of the
field from his work at evening…. the men of the
place were Benjamites….
• 20 The old man said, "Peace to you. Only let me
take care of all your needs; however, do not spend
the night in the open square.” 21 So he took him
into his house … and ate and drank. 22 While they
were celebrating, behold, the men of the city,
certain worthless fellows, surrounded the house,
pounding the door; and they spoke to the owner of
the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man
who came into your house that we may have
relations with him."

• NAU Judges 19:28 He said to her, "Get up and let
us go," but there was no answer. Then he
placed her on the donkey; and the man arose
and went to his home. 29 When he entered his
house, he took a knife and laid hold of his
concubine and cut her in twelve pieces, limb by
limb, and sent her throughout the territory of
Israel.

Judges 20 The Bloody Civil War
• Evil men ravage his concubine to death
• He sends her 12 pieces to the 12 tribes
• All Israel gathers against Gibeah of Benjamin, but
they won’t deliver them
• Gibeah assembles 26,000 with 700 Green Berets
• NAU Judges 20:18 Now the sons of Israel arose,
went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said,
"Who shall go up first for us to battle against the
sons of Benjamin?" Then the LORD said, "Judah
shall go up first.”
• Gibeah kills 22,000 Israelites
Judges 20:11, United Against Sin
Yet God Allows Them To Lose
• NAU Judges 20:11 Thus all the men of Israel
were gathered against the city, united as one
man.
• NAU Judges 20:14 The sons of Benjamin
gathered from the cities to Gibeah, to go out to
battle against the sons of Israel.
• They lost 22,000 Israelites
• NAU Judges 20:23 The sons of Israel went up
and wept before the LORD until evening, and
inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall we again
draw near for battle against the sons of my
brother Benjamin?" And the LORD said, "Go up
against him.”
Judges 20:23-25, The Lord Said Yes
• NAU Judges 20:23 …the LORD said, "Go up against
him.”
• NAU Judges 20:25 Benjamin went out against them
from Gibeah the second day and felled to the ground
again 18,000 men of the sons of Israel; all these drew
the sword.
• Most Christians would cave in at this point, thinking this
can't possibly be God’s will.
• NAU Judges 20:27 The sons of Israel inquired of the
LORD (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in
those days, 28 …saying, "Shall I yet again go out to
battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin, or shall
I cease?" And the LORD said, "Go up, for tomorrow I will
deliver them into your hand."
Judges 20:23-25, The Lord Said Yes
• NAU Judges 20:28 …And the LORD said, "Go up,
for tomorrow I will deliver them into your
hand.”
• NAU Judges 20:39 Then the men of Israel
turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to
strike and kill about thirty men of Israel…
• At this point modern Christians would
undoubtedly leave the church and never return,
telling everyone that God was a liar, because He
didn't do what He said on their timetable.
Thinking that it is impossible that God would
allow 30 to die.
Judges 21
• The consequences of the Civil War
Judges 21:6, Taking Wives
• NAU Judges 21:6 And the sons of Israel were
sorry for their brother Benjamin and said, "One
tribe is cut off from Israel today. 7 "What shall we
do for wives for those who are left, since we have
sworn by the LORD not to give them any of our
daughters in marriage?”… 15 And the people
were sorry for Benjamin because the LORD had
made a breach in the tribes of Israel…. 21 …if the
daughters of Shiloh come out to take part in the
dances, then you shall come out of the vineyards
and each of you shall catch his wife from the
daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of
Benjamin.
Judges 21:25, America In The Bible
• NAU Judges 21:25 In those days there was no
king in Israel; everyone did what was right in
his own eyes.
• America has abandoned the truth of absolute
morality, and even the idea of truth.
• Every man does what it is right in his own eyes.
To heck with God!
• Here's where subjective morality finally ends;
Abortion, Subjective Morality, Down’s
Syndrome, Birth Defects, Mental Illness
• RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY AGAIN." , Pastor Scott LaPierre
• Richard Dawkins started a controversy when a woman said, "I honestly don't know what I would do if I were pregnant
with a kid with Down Syndrome. Real ethical dilemma," and he responded with, "Abort it and try again. It would be
immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice." Dawkins later defended his advice:"If your morality is based,
as mine is, on a desire to increase the sum of happiness and reduce the suffering, the decision to deliberately give birth
to a Down baby, when you have the choice to abort it early in the pregnancy, might actually be immoral from the point
of view of the child's own welfare." The child's welfare? The child will be thankful it was aborted? The child would later
be offended it wasn't murdered?
• What really surprised me though was the amount of outrage Dawkins' comment received, because here's the truth: if
you believe in evolution you SHOULD agree with him! You should say, "We need to think about what's best for the
advancement of the human race and that means removing from the gene pool those individuals threatening its
progress...and if we're honest, there's no greater threat than those born with genetic disorders." And here's another
painful, but equally true reality: this thinking isn't very far removed from Hitler's desire to eliminate the inferior people
orUntermenschen (German for subhuman): Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, etc., to allow the superior Aryan Herrenvolk (Master
Race) to develop.
• Dawkins mentioned morality: he said it would be immoral to give birth to the child. But if you don't believe the Bible,
you CAN'T argue with him! If you disagree with him apart from Scripture what is your argument based on? It's based on
absolutely nothing more than your opinion! In the absence of Scripture, morality is completely subjective. While people
try to identify right and wrong or good and evil without the Bible, their positions are based entirely on opinion. When
one opinion differs from another, how is it determined which opinion is correct? Is it determined by which opinion
sounds better? Is it determined by which opinion can find the most similar opinions? If the Bible isn't your authority on
morality, the only weight behind your case is how well it can be argued...including debates about murdering babies. In
other words, in the absence of Scripture, there is no argument against murdering babies; the absence of Scripture puts
us in the days of the Judges when "Every man did what was right in his own eyes."

As we finish the Book of Judges
• Consider the shocking horror of the
wickedness of “man”, especially when we turn
from God and do whatever we want
• Then compare our level of evil as we butcher
2000-3000 of our own babies every day of the
year, for 60 years.
• We’ve invented ways to do it in the womb, so
we don’t have to see the horror of the
dissected human babies.

Judges 17:2, Micah The Thief • NAU Judges 17:2 He said to his mother, "The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse in my hearing, behold, the silver is with me; I took it." And his mother said, "Blessed be my son by the LORD.” • The “every man did what was right in his eyes” apparently also applied to mothers. Judges 17:6 • NAU Exodus 22:1 "If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for the ox and four sheep for the sheep. • NAU Exodus 22:4 “If…found alive in his possession… he shall pay double. • NAU Proverbs 6:31 But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold… • No blessing him!

Judges 17:7, Jonathan • NAU Judges 17:7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he was staying there. • In Judges 18:30 he is called Jonathan. He’s a grandson of Moses, a Levite, he is apostate, not living in a levitical city, a priest for hire to the highest bidder, and not afraid to use idols.

Judges 18:1, The Danite’s Inheritance • NAU Judges 18:1 In those days there was no king of Israel; and in those days the tribe of the Danites was seeking an inheritance for themselves to live in, for until that day an inheritance had not been allotted to them as a possession among the tribes of Israel. • NAU Judges 1:34 Then the Amorites forced the sons of Dan into the hill country, for they did not allow them to come down to the valley; • NAU Joshua 19:40-47 The seventh lot fell to the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their families…. • Dr. Ryrie says, “the Amorites had forced the Danites into the mountain areas of their allotted territory (1:34).” • That doesn’t give them the right to steal.
  • 7. Judges 18:7, Laish= Leshem • NAU Judges 18:7 Then the five men departed and came to Laish and saw the people who were in it living in security, after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and secure; for there was no ruler humiliating them for anything in the land, and they were far from the Sidonians and had no dealings with anyone. • NAU Joshua 19:47 The territory of the sons of Dan proceeded beyond them; for the sons of Dan went up and fought with Leshem and captured it. Then they struck it with the edge of the sword and possessed it and settled in it; and they called Leshem Dan after the name of Dan their father.

  • 14. Is there a hidden message in Revelation 7? Why is Dan missing? • Is there a hidden message in Revelation 7? Why is Dan missing? • Posted on October 5, 2015 by Reasons for Hope • Why-is-Dan-missing-in-Rev-7-3 • By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope • There’s a very interesting hidden message in chapter 7 of the book of Revelation, but before I reveal it let’s understand the context in which the list of the 12 tribes is given and why the tribe of Dan is missing. • This list in Revelation 7 identifies the 144,000 witnesses who will preach the gospel and testify of Jesus during the seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9). This is a period of seven years that is commonly referred to as the Tribulation. The 144,000 will include 12,000 men selected from 12 tribes. The tribe of Dan, one of the original 12 tribes of Israel, has been omitted from the list and Joseph’s son, Manasseh, has been added. What’s the explanation for this? And could there be a hidden message by omitting Dan and adding Manasseh? • The 12 Tribes of Israel • The 12 tribes of Israel are the 12 sons of Jacob, born to him by Leah, Rachel, Bilhah (Rachel’s handmaid) and Zilpah (Leah’s handmaid). The birth order is Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Dan, Nephthalim, Gad, Aser, Issachar, Zabulon, Joseph and Benjamin. (Genesis 35:23-26; Exodus 1:1-4; 1 Chronicles 2:1-2). • Whenever a listing of the 12 tribes varies from the list of Jacob’s sons there is a reason. Sometimes the reason is clearly understood. For example, in the division of the land (Joshua 13-19) the tribes of Levi and Joseph are omitted. Levi was omitted because it was the priestly tribe and they were given cities throughout the land. Although Joseph’s name is omitted in the land distribution, the tribe of Joseph is actually represented through Joseph’s sons. The tribe of Joseph Don't squint! The complete article follows after the THE END slide.
  • 15. Judges 18:30, Dan Missing? • By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope, “Let’s now rearrange the names in the order in which they are listed in Revelation 7:7-8 with the meaning next to each: • Judah: Praise the Lord, • Reuben: He has looked on my affliction • Gad: good fortune comes • Asher: happy and blessed am I • Napthali: my wrestling • Manasseh: has made me forget my sorrow • Simeon: God hears me • Levi: has joined me • Issachar: rewarded me • Zebulun: exalted me • Joseph: adding to me • Benjamin: the Son of His right hand.”
  • 16. Judges 18:30, Dan Missing? • By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope, “The Meaning of the Names in the Order of Revelation 7 • Now let’s string together the meaning of the names and read the message: • Praise the Lord. He has looked on my affliction [and] good fortune comes. Happy and blessed am I. My wrestling has made me forget my sorrow. God hears me, has joined me, rewarded me, exalted me [by] adding to me the Son of His right hand.”
  • 17. Judges 18:30, Dan & Idolatry • NAU Judges 18:30 …Dan set up… the graven image… • NAU 1 Kings 12:28 So the king consulted, and made two golden calves, and he said to them, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; behold your gods, O Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt." 29 He set one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. • NAU 2 Kings 10:29 …the golden calves … at Dan.
  • 18. Judges 18:30, The Captivity • NAU Judges 18:30 …he and his sons were priests to the tribe of the Danites until the day of the captivity of the land. • Dr. Ryrie pg. 308, says, “… either a reference to the deportation by Tiglath-Pileser III of Assyria in 733 – 732 (2 Kings 15:29) or to the time of the exile of the ark from Shiloh in the 11th century BC (1 Sam. 4:11). Verse 31 may favor the latter view.”

  • 20. Judges 19:1-4 • NAU Judges 19:1 Now it came about in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, who took a concubine for himself from Bethlehem in Judah. 2 But his concubine played the harlot against him, and she went away from him to her father's house in Bethlehem in Judah, and was there for a period of four months. 3 Then her husband arose and went after her to speak tenderly to her in order to bring her back, taking with him his servant and a pair of donkeys. So she brought him into her father's house, and when the girl's father saw him, he was glad to meet him. 4 His father-in- law, the girl's father, detained him; and he remained with him three days. So they ate and drank and lodged there….
  • 21. Judges 19:8-10 • 8 On the fifth day he arose to go early in the morning, and the girl's father said, "Please sustain yourself, and wait until afternoon"; so both of them ate. 9 When the man arose to go along with his concubine and servant, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, "Behold now, the day has drawn to a close; please spend the night. Lo, the day is coming to an end; spend the night here that your heart may be merry. Then tomorrow you may arise early for your journey so that you may go home." 10 But the man was not willing to spend the night, so he arose and departed and came to a place opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). And there were with him a pair of saddled donkeys; his concubine also was with him.
  • 22. Judges 19:16-22 • 16 Then behold, an old man was coming out of the field from his work at evening…. the men of the place were Benjamites…. • 20 The old man said, "Peace to you. Only let me take care of all your needs; however, do not spend the night in the open square.” 21 So he took him into his house … and ate and drank. 22 While they were celebrating, behold, the men of the city, certain worthless fellows, surrounded the house, pounding the door; and they spoke to the owner of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came into your house that we may have relations with him."

  • 25. Judges 19:28-29, Was She Dead? • NAU Judges 19:28 He said to her, "Get up and let us go," but there was no answer. Then he placed her on the donkey; and the man arose and went to his home. 29 When he entered his house, he took a knife and laid hold of his concubine and cut her in twelve pieces, limb by limb, and sent her throughout the territory of Israel. • Some try to accuse him of murder, but; • NAU Judges 20:5 …They intended to kill me; instead, they ravished my concubine so that she died.
  • 28. Judges 20:1, Beersheba • NAU Judges 20:1 Then all the sons of Israel from Dan to Beersheba, including the land of Gilead, came out, and the congregation assembled as one man to the LORD at Mizpah. • We would say “everybody from the north to the south.” • Today's Israel Photo, A fascinating view of Tel Beersheba, an archaeological site unearthing the remains of the original Biblical town where Abraham and Isaac once lived!

Then the LORD said, "Judah shall go up first.” • Gibeah kills 22,000 Israelites
  • 32. Judges 20:11, United Against Sin Yet God Allows Them To Lose • NAU Judges 20:11 Thus all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, united as one man. • NAU Judges 20:14 The sons of Benjamin gathered from the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the sons of Israel. • They lost 22,000 Israelites • NAU Judges 20:23 The sons of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall we again draw near for battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin?" And the LORD said, "Go up against him.”
  • 33. Judges 20:23-25, The Lord Said Yes • NAU Judges 20:23 …the LORD said, "Go up against him.” • NAU Judges 20:25 Benjamin went out against them from Gibeah the second day and felled to the ground again 18,000 men of the sons of Israel; all these drew the sword. • Most Christians would cave in at this point, thinking this can't possibly be God’s will. • NAU Judges 20:27 The sons of Israel inquired of the LORD (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, 28 …saying, "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin, or shall I cease?" And the LORD said, "Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand."
  • 34. Judges 20:23-25, The Lord Said Yes • NAU Judges 20:28 …And the LORD said, "Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand.” • NAU Judges 20:39 Then the men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill about thirty men of Israel… • At this point modern Christians would undoubtedly leave the church and never return, telling everyone that God was a liar, because He didn't do what He said on their timetable. Thinking that it is impossible that God would allow 30 to die.

  • 36.   • 37. Judges 21:25, America In The Bible • NAU Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. • America has abandoned the truth of absolute morality, and even the idea of truth. • Every man does what it is right in his own eyes. To heck with God! • Here's where subjective morality finally ends;
  • 38. Abortion, Subjective Morality, Down’s Syndrome, Birth Defects, Mental Illness • RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY AGAIN." , Pastor Scott LaPierre • Richard Dawkins started a controversy when a woman said, "I honestly don't know what I would do if I were pregnant with a kid with Down Syndrome. Real ethical dilemma," and he responded with, "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice." Dawkins later defended his advice:"If your morality is based, as mine is, on a desire to increase the sum of happiness and reduce the suffering, the decision to deliberately give birth to a Down baby, when you have the choice to abort it early in the pregnancy, might actually be immoral from the point of view of the child's own welfare." The child's welfare? The child will be thankful it was aborted? The child would later be offended it wasn't murdered? • What really surprised me though was the amount of outrage Dawkins' comment received, because here's the truth: if you believe in evolution you SHOULD agree with him! You should say, "We need to think about what's best for the advancement of the human race and that means removing from the gene pool those individuals threatening its progress...and if we're honest, there's no greater threat than those born with genetic disorders." And here's another painful, but equally true reality: this thinking isn't very far removed from Hitler's desire to eliminate the inferior people orUntermenschen (German for subhuman): Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, etc., to allow the superior Aryan Herrenvolk (Master Race) to develop. • Dawkins mentioned morality: he said it would be immoral to give birth to the child. But if you don't believe the Bible, you CAN'T argue with him! If you disagree with him apart from Scripture what is your argument based on? It's based on absolutely nothing more than your opinion! In the absence of Scripture, morality is completely subjective. While people try to identify right and wrong or good and evil without the Bible, their positions are based entirely on opinion. When one opinion differs from another, how is it determined which opinion is correct? Is it determined by which opinion sounds better? Is it determined by which opinion can find the most similar opinions? If the Bible isn't your authority on morality, the only weight behind your case is how well it can be argued...including debates about murdering babies. In other words, in the absence of Scripture, there is no argument against murdering babies; the absence of Scripture puts us in the days of the Judges when "Every man did what was right in his own eyes." • August 25, 2014 by Pastor Scott LaPierre Don't squint! • 40. As we finish the Book of Judges • Consider the shocking horror of the wickedness of “man”, especially when we turn from God and do whatever we want • Then compare our level of evil as we butcher 2000-3000 of our own babies every day of the year, for 60 years. • We’ve invented ways to do it in the womb, so we don’t have to see the horror of the dissected human babies.

  14. http://www.rforh.com/blog/why-is-the-tribe-of-dan-missing-in-revelation-7-a-hidden-message/ Is there a hidden message in Revelation 7? Why is Dan missing? Posted on October 5, 2015 by Reasons for Hope Why-is-Dan-missing-in-Rev-7-3 By Shari Abbott, Reasons for Hope There’s a very interesting hidden message in chapter 7 of the book of Revelation, but before I reveal it let’s understand the context in which the list of the 12 tribes is given and why the tribe of Dan is missing. This list in Revelation 7 identifies the 144,000 witnesses who will preach the gospel and testify of Jesus during the seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9). The 12 Tribes of Israel The 12 tribes of Israel are the 12 sons of Jacob, born to him by Leah, Rachel, Bilhah (Rachel’s handmaid) and Zilpah (Leah’s handmaid). The birth order is Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Dan, Nephthalim, Gad, Aser, Issachar, Zabulon, Joseph and Benjamin. (Genesis 35:23-26; Exodus 1:1-4; 1 Chronicles 2:1-2). Whenever a listing of the 12 tribes varies from the list of Jacob’s sons there is a reason. The tribe of Joseph received a double blessing through Joseph’s sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. Each was give a portion of land. Based on the birth list of the sons of Jacob, the list in Revelation 7 clearly omits Dan and adds Manasseh. In this case, the Bible does not tell why the tribe of Dan was omitted, nor does it reveal why Manasseh was included instead of Joseph’s other son Ephraim. The most common reasoning is that both Dan and Ephraim were centers of idolatry in the Northern Kingdom. The tribes were guilty of allowing Jeroboam to set up golden calves, as gods to be worshipped. One was set up in Bethel in the territory of Ephraim and another in Dan. (1 Kings 12:25-30). These verses tell of the idolatrous acts of Dan and Ephraim and God’s judgment of them. This provides support for the reasoning that they were excluded because of idolatry: Hosea 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone. Amos 8:14 They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again. Deuteronomy 29:18, 20, 21 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations…The LORD will not spare him…And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel… It seems reasonable that the omission of Dan, and the addition of Manasseh as opposed to Ephraim, was because of idolatry. However, remember that we cannot know this for certain. The Bible does not give an explicit answer. Note also that the list in Revelation 7 does not follow the birth order. I propose for your consideration a “remez” that offers another possible reason for the variation in tribes and the order of the names. What’s a remez? In Jewish hermeneutics (Scripture interpretation), a remez is a hidden message or a deeper meaning that is below the surface or behind the words. Let’s look at the message that can be found in Revelation 7. What’s in a Name? In ancient times, the names given to children had significant meaning. In Genesis we find the meanings of the names listed in Revelation 7:7-8. In birth order they are: Genesis 29:32 Reuben: “surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.” Genesis 29:33 Simeon: “because the LORD hath heard… he hath therefore given me this son…” Genesis 29:34 Levi: “now this time will my husband be joined unto me” (It should be noted that God is called Israel husband in Isa 54:5 ) Genesis 29:35 Judah: “now will I praise the LORD” [Dan is omitted in Revelation 7] Genesis 30:8 Naphtali: “with great wrestlings…I have prevailed.” Genesis 30:11 Gad: “a troop cometh” [Gad in Hebrew means “good fortune”] Genesis 30:13 Asher: “happy am I, call me blessed” Genesis 30:18 Issachar: “God hath given me my hire” [Hebrew sakar – wages, compensation, reward] Genesis 30:20 Zebulon: “now will my husband dwell with me” Genesis 30:24 Joseph: “the LORD shall add” Genesis 35:18 Benjamin: “the Son of the right hand” Genesis 41:51 Manasseh: “for God hath made me forget all my toil.” Let’s now rearrange the names in the order in which they are listed in Revelation 7:7-8 with the meaning next to each: Judah: Praise the Lord, Reuben: He has looked on my affliction Gad: good fortune comes Asher: happy and blessed am I Napthali: my wrestling Manasseh: has made me forget my sorrow Simeon: God hears me Levi: has joined me Issachar: rewarded me Zebulun: exalted me Joseph: adding to me Benjamin: the Son of His right hand. Now let’s string together the meaning of the names and read the message: Praise the Lord. He has looked on my affliction [and] good fortune comes. Happy and blessed am I. My wrestling has made me forget my sorrow. God hears me, has joined me, rewarded me, exalted me [by] adding to me the Son of His right hand. If the tribe of Dan had been included or Ephraim added instead of Manasseh, or if the tribes had been listed in birth order, this message would not have been the same. Perhaps this message is another reason Dan was omitted and Manasseh was included. Note that I said perhaps. Always remember, this is only reasoning. We simply do not know the answer, because the Bible does not directly record it. There’s definitely a message found in the passage. Another proof of the divine Author of the Bible. We still don’t know for certain why Dan was omitted, so when the Bible does not clearly “speak,” be ready always to agree with Jeremiah and Ezekiel who were quick to proclaim… - See more at: http://www.rforh.com/blog/why-is-the-tribe-of-dan-missing-in-revelation-7-a-hidden-message/#sthash.M0NK2qcL.dpuf
  15. http://scottlapierre.org/2014/08/25/richard-dawkins-abort-it-and-try-again/ RICHARD DAWKINS: "ABORT IT AND TRY AGAIN."  , Pastor Scott LaPierre  Richard Dawkins started a controversy when a woman said, "I honestly don't know what I would do if I were pregnant with a kid with Down Syndrome. What really surprised me though was the amount of outrage Dawkins' comment received, because here's the truth: if you believe in evolution you SHOULD agree with him! Dawkins mentioned morality: he said it would be immoral to give birth to the child. In other words, in the absence of Scripture, there is no argument against murdering babies; the absence of Scripture puts us in the days of the Judges when "Every man did what was right in his own eyes."  August 25, 2014 by Pastor Scott LaPierre http://scottlapierre.org/2014/08/25/richard-dawkins-abort-it-and-try-again/
