2. - Mouth : Where food is chewed and broken down into smaller pieces - Esophagus : Tube that connects the mouth to the stomach, foods also travels down this - Stomach : Breaks down food and digests foods - Live r: Produces substances that breaks down fats, removes harmful substances from the blood, stores vitamins - Gall Bladder : Stores and releases Bile - Pancreas : Makes enzymes Major Organs
3. . More Major Organs -Small Intestine : Absorbs the nutrients from digested food. - Large Intestine : Stores feces and absorbs water
4. The Food Path First food enters the mouth. In the mouth food is chewed and broken down into smaller pieces. After food is chewed its is swallowed where it travels down the esophagus. The food will travel down the esophagus in 4 - 8 seconds. Juices are produced in the esophagus to help food travel down easier. After traveling down the esophagus food enters the stomach. In the stomach food is digested by juices while the stomach grinds the food into smaller parts. The digested food enters the small intestine where nutrients are absorbed into the blood stream. Food them moves to the large intestine where it waits to be realsesed. Food is then released thought the excretory system. The digestive systems main function is to digest food and absorb the nutrients from the food so that we can get our energy to function.
5. Team Work The Digestive System works with the the excretory system. The digestive system works with the excretory system by holding the waste from digested food and passes the waste to the excretory system. Without the excretory system the large intestine would be filled with waste and without the digestive system the excretory system would have nothing to get rid of.
