Revive!Working an Add Agency RIGHT.
Created and Presented by ‘Debola Mobee (November, 2014)
Welcome!
2
“Desire is the key to motivation, but it is
determination and commitment to an
unrelenting pursuit of your goal -- a
commitment to excellence -- that will
enable you to attain the success you
seek.” -- Mario Andretti (a retired Italian American world champion racing driver, one of the most
successful Americans in the history of the sport).
Working it right!
3
Now, lets start with opening our minds . . .
Business can be much better to chase.
Billings can be much better in our favour.
Profits can be much better for us.
Earnings and emoluments can be more wholesome.
We can be more productive in our responsibilities.
We can be happier at our jobs.
We can live better on the long run.
These are all very desirable possibilities.
The Attitude
4
“You must be very patient, very persistent.
The world isn’t going to shower gold coins
on you just because you have a good idea.
You’re going to have to work like crazy to
bring that idea to the attention of people.
They’re not going to buy it unless they
know about it.”
– Herb Kelleher (founder and former CEO of Southwest Airlines, one of the first airlines to offer low-cost fares by eliminating unnecessary
services).

20
Belief (1)
We can be a Leading
Organization
21
Belief (2)
We can be a collaborative community of
leaders, intellect and talent.
22
Belief (3)
Our currency must be ideas.
23
Belief (4)
We must thrive on
creativity &
imagination
backed by insight,
talent, tools,
facilities &
environment.
24
Belief (5)
Our passion must be
to create,
to sell &
to seek
knowledge.
25
Belief (5)
We can be
leadersin billings,
awards,
processes,
systems &
manpower
development.
26
Belief (6)
We are what we
repeatedly do.
Excellence therefore is
not and act but a habit.
- Arostotle
27
Who must we be?
A Relevant Creative Force
Setting the mark in Thought Leadership
Innovative ideas & Trendsetters
of renowned creativity.
A Fighter For Top Slots
Displaying consistent and continuous improvement
Through never-ending-thinking.
We do not rest on our oars!
One Integrity Team
Our word is our bond.
We are committed to our values.
We don’t cheat clients or service suppliers
We don’t cheat our people or organization.
28
What must drive us?
The thoughts of
yesterday and the
glory of yesterday
Will not take us far.
Let’s change our
mindset and be set for
the greater glories of
now.
29
What must drive us? (Cont’d)
You can’t THINK your
way into right actions.
You must rather ACT
your way into right
thinking.
30
What must drive us? (Cont’d)
“ The Quality of a Person’s Life is
in direct proportion to their
Commitment to Excellence,
regardless of their chosen field
of endeavor "
- Vince Lombardi
31
What can stop us?
If indeed we have a world view,
What then can stop us from achieving our vision?
What can stop us from becoming leaders in our field?
Only the absence of self-belief
and a can-do attitude can
stop us!
32
What can stop us? (Cont’d) 1
Productivity and Efficiency at the
expense of Effectiveness and Meaning
“ If I draw many scamps, that should
satisfy the boss! I have no time for
research, insight & strategy. No time for
reviews & analysis.”
“ I will write out a really huge document
to cover up for poor interrogation
of the brand.”
“ I don’t need to start this costing all
over again. I will simply copy and paste
the one we used for client X.”
“ It is late and I see no reason for
contact reporting. I will capture
everything tomorrow morning.”
“ Even though we have not gone to
inspect, we can fill the job
completion form. We did a good job
from the scratch.”
“ Let’s just produce as many copies
as are needed. The quality doesn’t
matter for now; Afterall, it is just a
one day event.”
33
What can stop us? (Cont’d) 2
“ There are those
who look at things the way
they are, and ask why…
… I dream of things that
never were, and ask
why not?
- Robert F Kennedy
Inability to query status quo!
34
Our way forward?
We need to set
the following
clear objectives
& principles:
Lead:
Leadership in day-to-day
activities & tasks
Focus : Single-minded
dedication to
achievement
of an objective.
Free:
Freedom to think
and be open to
wow! Ideas
Experiment :
Explore more.
35
Under which kind of Leaders?
The
Servant
Leaders
“ It’s all about
how I can be
of help ”
“ It’s all about
being
responsible.”
36
Under which kind of support?
“ If one man thinks for an organization,
it becomes a ‘one-man-ization’and not an
Organization ”
But if 100 employees are thinking for
an organization; that means you have
basically 100 general managers
thinking of how to improve their
organization
37
Under which kind of resolve?
We must all be
front liners to think ahead
of the Servant Leader
and supply him
with whatever is required
because we say we are a
collaborative community
…let’s REVIVE!
38
A new mantra:
IT IS POSSIBLE!
Nothing is impossible
