My workshop is less about what happened in the classroom and more about what happened when a conversation across distance began to unfold about how aspects of digital storytelling could be brought into the culture of the Web 2.0 World. The conversation began in Tech Matters with discussions over beer between Bonnie Kaplan, of the Hudson Valley Writing Project in New York and myself, and this talk continued afterwards through blogs and emails, and then formed itself into a collaborative project that used storytelling, video and reflection to create something bigger out of smaller parts. The Collaborative ABC Movie Project is just one model of using the new world of media to connect teachers as a professional learning community and its success provides a possible model for Writing Project sites with members who are geographically distant from each other.
