2. OBJECTIVE:
• Students will write present tense interrogative sentences
WIDA Can Do Descriptors:
• Complete pattern sentences
• For grades 6-8
• Level 2-beginning
Materials:
• PowerPoint
• White board markers
• Pencils
• Paper

3. ANTICIPATORY SET
Brainstorm as many words in the future that you
can and have them write them all down.

4. PROCEDURE
Direct Instruction:
Explain to students:
Future tense is often accompanied with the word
“will”
 Unless it is being used to talk about “will power”
(mental strength to persevere)

5. PROCEDURE CONTINUED
Put the following “will questions” on the board:
-What will you do tomorrow?
-Will she go on the date?
-What will we eat for dinner?
-Why will you skip school tomorrow?
-Will you always have money?
Ask your students what the common theme of these sentences is.
Ask them when these sentences are happening (past, present, or
future).
