The SIUE Police Department provides police services to the Edwardsville campus and satellite locations. It is comprised of 39 sworn police officers and 9 civilian employees. The department operates on a community policing philosophy, with officers engaging in foot and bike patrols as well as educational programs. It offers non-emergency services like vehicle lockouts and jump starts. The department aims to prevent property and personal crimes through education and patrols. SIUE Police officers are sworn police personnel under the
authority granted by Illinois law and have the power to
make arrests.
The SIUE Police Department is composed of 39 sworn
police officers and 9 civilian employees. The main police
facility is located at 99 Supporting Services Road, just
south of the main campus.

7. Escort Service
University Police provide an escort service to
persons who are apprehensive about walking
alone on campus. The Police will escort you from
campus location to campus location or to your
vehicle in a campus parking lot.

Lockouts
If you lock your keys in your car, you can call the Police
Department and an officer will be dispatched to your
location as soon as an officer is available to help retrieve
them. To receive this service, you will be required to sign a
Release of Liability Form.

Jump-starts to inoperable vehicles are available through
the Parking Services Department, or jumper cables can be
borrowed from the Police Department.
