3. Also known as clear lens
extraction, refractive lens exchange is
considered to be preferable to Lasik or PRK
procedures for patients diagnosed with
pronounced farsightedness (high hyperopia)
or presbyopia. Presbyopia is an age-related
gradual vision loss resulting in the inability to
focus on nearby objects, often evidenced by
the need for bifocals, reading glasses, or
adjustment of reading distances.
