- How many are designers? fashion designers architects how many want to create something today? start your day with this question life designers? The most important question: What do I want to create today. waht projects am i going to start? how can i start fresh, as if it was my first day as a teacher or as an artist
- Boston, Been in Japan 25 years. I’m not an artist. I can hardly draw stick figure This is me--actually-me with a baseball cap came as a consultant professor at Keio-I taught business- not art.
- opened an art gallery. its the same art also helps people change. why not--transforms peoples lives. crime went down when a principal took the money

- how can you work with power passion and courage? like Jeremy Lin. people who work with power and passion, never give up Matsui said we have to win.
- you have to do something do something, don’t be a gonna do it, be a do it you too have to create something you can not see so how do you create something? so how? 3 steps to take
- do something even when it frightens you. keep this talking to your boss, talk to your mother arranging a transfer BEEN INTERESTED IN COURAGE ALL MY LIFE. Courage means facing uncertainty and making a decision in accord with your beliefs.
- if you don;’t have courage, act like a person who does have courage. understand your fear. you dont have to give in to your fear you can push through it
- YOU GOT TO TAKE THAT FEAR, RIP IT UP AND THROW IT AWAY FLUSH IT DOWN THE TOILET
- where does it come from? scary places--not the roller coaster,
- DREAM ABOUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT FOR YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR BUSINESS WHO DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED dream about what you can do for others and yourself
- I grew up in Boston dreamed of southern california
- bringing this in to companies i dream of finding a designer bringing this in to companies fun--
- the best leaders DREAM most of us are good at our job good is the enemy of great
- just take the first step. nike says just do it. part of that is dreaming
- what can you do to bring people together? in your work, as a professor, as the owner of an art gallery I started working more like an artist and making my work my art. i also learned so much from the artists.
- what can you do to bring people together people work in silos you can bridge those silos are you someone who can--especially if you are a foreigner
- reach out to other people take some risks dream
- to have more courage to dream create community
