You start experiencing:
• Severe pain in the chest
• The pain starts to radiate out into the
arm and up into the jaw

In Case of a Heart Attack
• you may be far away from the
nearest hospital
• you may be trained in CPR

5. Many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack
Without help, they have only 10 seconds left before losing consciousness

6. STEP 1
● Do not panic!
● Start coughing REPEATEDLY and VERY VIGOROUSLY!
Coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm

7. STEP 2
● Take a deep breath before each cough
● The cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

8. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital
STEP 3
• Repeat breath and cough every 2 seconds
• Don’t let it up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

not prone to heart attack as your
age is less than 25 or 30. Nowadays
due to the changes in life style,
heart attack is found among people
of all age groups.
