2. The Messianic Psalms Every Psalm has a prophetic note. Almost entire scale of prophecy is touched on within the Psalter. But some of the Psalms are unique. They are picked up by the New Testament writers and quoted in such a way that it is obvious they spoke especially of Christ.

13. The Messianic Psalms 2. The Father Speaks (vv 4-6) God does three things. He laughs, He speaks, He establishes. Ps. 2: 4 - 6 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh : the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath , and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. Ps. 37:13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. If men will not listen to His tones in grace, they must listen to his thunders in judgment. Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
