Program at the
NYU School of
Medicine
The NYU School of Medicine offers students an Honors Program
through which they can further investigate biomedical science

hypothesis-driven laboratory research, and gives them insight into
potential career options in academic medicine.
4. The Honors
Program at the
NYU School of
Medicine
Under the direction of mentors, students conduct research and
also attend a lecture series, laboratory meetings, and journal
clubs. The students must work with R01-funded mentors and
complete at least 20 weeks of research in NYU laboratories. After
completing the required laboratory time for the Honors Program,
each student has to write a 20-page thesis and defend it before a
committee consisting of four members of faculty.
