plant with enough, work areas, walkways, and
ring spinning and rotor spinning boundaries.
 Spinning facility layout probably is one of the
most critical elements affecting efficiency.
 An efficient layout can reduce unnecessary
material handling, help to keep costs low, and
maintain product flow through the facility

 High initial capital investment in special purpose
machine.
 Material handling is not standardized
 Product/output are not standardized.
 Breakdown of one machine will hamper the
whole production process.
 Lesser flexibility as specially laid out for
particular product.
Advantages of product layouts include
 Product layouts can generate a large volume
of products in a short time.
Unit cost is low as a result of the high volume.
 Labor specialization results in reduced
training time and cost.
 The materials/output of products easily
transport from one area to another.
