2. 12 And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh (20 miles) the same day with his clothes rent (torn) , and with earth upon his head. 13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God . And when the man came into the city, and told it , all the city cried out. Eli knew that Israel had put the Ark at risk . He knew God's Prophecy of doom for his family. He had reason to fear and worry.

3. Obedient children of God have no need to worry. As long as we are submissive to our Father, His Will for us is good and perfect. Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renew-ing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good , and acceptable , and perfect , Will of God.

4. But, disobedient children of God should worry. Hebrews 10 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting (encouraging) one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the Truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation , which shall devour the adversaries.

5. 14 And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in hastily, and told Eli. 15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see. 16 And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?

6. 17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead , and the Ark of God is taken . Hebrews 10 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My Soul shall have no pleasure in him.

7. Jeremiah 2 19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that My fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts. Israel had backslid; they no longer worshipped the True and Living God, and Him only . They had turned the Ark of God into a rabbit's foot , and nothing more.

8. 18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the Ark of God, that he (Eli) fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy (big and fat) . And he had judged Israel forty years.

9. 19 And his daughter-in-law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the Ark of God was taken, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.

10. 20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it . 21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel : because the Ark of God was taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband. 22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the Ark of God is taken.

11. Without God's Presence in their midst, Israel was a nothing nation . Without God's Presence in my life , My life is not worth living.

12. God desires to be active in our lives. He wants to bless us, filling us with joy and peace .

13. When we gladly live our lives according to every Word of God, We are blessed . Love , Joy , Peace

14. When God warns us against a behavior, It is because that behavior is harmful to us .

15. When God tells us to do a thing, It's because we will be blessed in doing it.

16. John 15 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Every Word of God is for our blessing . An obedient child of God is a happy child of God.

17. Nothing in this world is of any value , Unless we are happy and at peace within ourselves. The rich man counting his money, may not Be as happy as the homeless man with no money to count.

18. Let's draw near to God. Romans 12 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor (hate) that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
