Aiming at a reduction of emissions from the cooling sectors,
the Green Cooling Initiative combines three approaches:
• promoting natural refrigerants,
• maximising energy efficiency,
• fosters a sustainable approach to private and
commercial energy consumption.

Study “Promoting Food Security and Safety via Cold Chains”
by Sector Project “Basic Energy Services (HERA)” and ProKlima
Aim:
• Overview: existing challenges and possible solutions towards better cold chain
coverage
• Focus on perishable foodstuffs (vegetables and fruits, dairy, meat and fish)
• Understanding of well-functioning cold chains, drivers and barriers
• How to supply energy required for cooling in a climate-friendly manner
