12. “I then had many meaningful conversations between 2007
and 2009 where the model was refined. Many of them at
ebbf conferences, the kind of conversations that I define as
life changing. In many of those conversations people would
react so very enthusiastically and give great ideas, I
specifically remember conversations with Larry Staudt and
Graham Boyd whom I had met at past ebbf events.”

13. “When attending the last ebbf conference, which are always an
unmissable source of inspiration for us, I remember a great
conversation I had with ebbf board member Françoise Le Goff and I
wrote down in my notebook a little note she mentioned “never
sacrifice people for profit as in the future that will be thrown back to
you” “
“An ebbf member shared with me an article that about
the difference between happiness and meaningfulness
(http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2013/01/
theres-more-to-life-than-being-happy/266805/)”
“What really drives me comes from a talk I heard at my first ebbf
conference, where World Bank director Augusto Lopez-Claros
made a strong statement that aligned me with ebbf and then
inspired my vision on the future.”
www.ebbf.org | stories of HOW ebbf accompanies
“surround yourself with people who are like-minded: I think back at all the people I
met at ebbf and who have been supporting us to follow this road”
14. “The cycle of studying, acting and reflection
works well in ebbf. Over the years I have learned
(and I really started from basics, I knew zero)
what is a sustainable way to develop
organizations as a grass-root worker, tried it into
real life at my own work places, and talked about
it to my friends. I have realized that everybody
seem to have the same humble posture of
learning there. Discussing and sharing ideas
only, or “raising awareness”, would not change
anything really. We do discuss, even extensively
when we meet, but when we get back then it is
all about doing.”

How can we better accompany you?
How can we become a better learning organization?
33. www.ebbf.org | suggestions from the consultation
- engage with members about the location and pricing of the next two international conferences,
catering for different financial possibilities.
- more connections with AIESEC, Jade, JCIs as they have very like-minded members eager for and
used to meaningful action - for example inviting their leadership to ebbf events.
- we should better capture at what stage of their evolution, our members currently are. This will
allow us to both better map how members are increasing their influence through ebbf’s
accompaniment and help us design ebbf accompaniment services that better fit their current and
desired stage of evolution.
- ebbf’s online presence should allow members to post an idea for a business and test it with the
trusted ebbf community / receive input on how to evolve it
- we should continuously improve our positionining and unique value proposition as a Baha’i-
inspired organization
- we suggest ebbf partner with more like-minded organizations such as TBLI and other impact
investment entities.
- considering our weak financial position, we should actively look for new revenue streams such as
government grants
