Costume, Actors and Props
Disclaimer
Due to the filming technique of Gorilla
filming, all of the people featuring In the
music video will be pedestrians that just
happen to be in shot therefore I wont be
able to plan any costumes, or have any
props to give to featured people or am able
to do a write up of actors all of the people in
the video will be completely random and
unplanned.
Costumes
At this point in pre-production, I am not sure whether to go
through with an idea of filming myself in the video. But if I do
feature myself in the, I have created a theoretical costume.
5 Panel – a modern addition to the 80’s vintage look,
this links in with the popular culture side of Indie pop.
Circular sunglasses – Roots of the
80’s style of shaped sunnies. But has
been slightly changed to become more
modern. Also good for establishing the
brightness and warmth of the
environment, supports the sense of
realism.
Flannel shirt: One of the most popular forms of vintage
clothing, 80’s style of clothing. Probably more popular
now than in the era they came into fashion first.
Chosen due to conforming to the genre conventions of
individuality and 80’s style whilst still being a part of
extremely popular culture and in line with fashion trends.
Nike Skate shoes: Links with
independence as the target market age is
for teens and early 20’s. is hugely part of
popular culture as it is an extremely
popular brand.
Chosen due to already owning this pair
and the fact Nike trainers were just as
popular in the 80’s as they are now.
Actors
If I am to feature myself in the video, it will be for the purpose of
establishing that the video is from my perspective and how I am
viewing the surroundings to the audience.
Bio: I have had a lot of experience with acting through stagecoach
theatre, GCSE drama, As + A level drama and many musicals and
stage productions within school.
I am not an incredibly good actor but I enjoy it, so the role of just
looking around will suit, as it’s not a very demanding role. But it is
key that I feature as the video is from my perspective.
Also fits in with the pop genre convention of focusing on a person
and their direct involvement with the lyrics. However, the fact that it
is not a performance makes the video more individual.
Props
Cannon 1100D DLSR camera –
symbolizes the want to capture the
moment. Also is a link with ‘Boyhood’ as
the boy gets into photography and is
obsessed with photographing everything,
looking in depth and appreciating the
details of the world.
Iphone – conforms to the genre
trait of being in the loop socially,
through the form of social media.

Costume, actors and props

  • 2. Disclaimer Due to the filming technique of Gorilla filming, all of the people featuring In the music video will be pedestrians that just happen to be in shot therefore I wont be able to plan any costumes, or have any props to give to featured people or am able to do a write up of actors all of the people in the video will be completely random and unplanned.
  • 3. Costumes At this point in pre-production, I am not sure whether to go through with an idea of filming myself in the video. But if I do feature myself in the, I have created a theoretical costume. 5 Panel – a modern addition to the 80’s vintage look, this links in with the popular culture side of Indie pop. Circular sunglasses – Roots of the 80’s style of shaped sunnies. But has been slightly changed to become more modern. Also good for establishing the brightness and warmth of the environment, supports the sense of realism.
  • 4. Flannel shirt: One of the most popular forms of vintage clothing, 80’s style of clothing. Probably more popular now than in the era they came into fashion first. Chosen due to conforming to the genre conventions of individuality and 80’s style whilst still being a part of extremely popular culture and in line with fashion trends. Nike Skate shoes: Links with independence as the target market age is for teens and early 20’s. is hugely part of popular culture as it is an extremely popular brand. Chosen due to already owning this pair and the fact Nike trainers were just as popular in the 80’s as they are now.
  • 5. Actors If I am to feature myself in the video, it will be for the purpose of establishing that the video is from my perspective and how I am viewing the surroundings to the audience. Bio: I have had a lot of experience with acting through stagecoach theatre, GCSE drama, As + A level drama and many musicals and stage productions within school. I am not an incredibly good actor but I enjoy it, so the role of just looking around will suit, as it’s not a very demanding role. But it is key that I feature as the video is from my perspective. Also fits in with the pop genre convention of focusing on a person and their direct involvement with the lyrics. However, the fact that it is not a performance makes the video more individual.
  • 6. Props Cannon 1100D DLSR camera – symbolizes the want to capture the moment. Also is a link with ‘Boyhood’ as the boy gets into photography and is obsessed with photographing everything, looking in depth and appreciating the details of the world. Iphone – conforms to the genre trait of being in the loop socially, through the form of social media.
