District Launching of AAN DIPECHO Project
The project was formally launched in both of the project districts. In the launching
programs, representative from district level government bodies, political parties,
stakeholders, journalists, project beneficiaries, UN agencies and I/NGOs were present. The
launching program was held in July 19, 2009 in Banke whereas in August 9, 2009 in Sunsari.
Huge number of participants in both launching program and lively interaction made success
of the events. Both partner organizations also completed orientation in village level.
Capacity Building to Project Team Members
REFLECT TOT
An 8 days REFLECT Training of Trainers for Reflect
facilitators and social mobilizers was organized in
Gaidakot, Nawalparasi during August 8-15, 2009. There
were 22 participants in the training.
PVA Training
Participatory Vulnerability Analysis training was Participants in the PVA training provided to

PVA Training to Practical Action Team
PVA training was provided to 22 team members of Practical Action DIPECHO team mem-
bers to introduce them the PVA process and field application tools. The training was pro-
vided by AA as per the MOU signed by both organizations on collaborative approach to DRR.
The training was held from 25-29 August 2009 in Nepalgunj and was facilitated by Ram

Community Mobilization in the field DIPECHO Coordination
The project team members from AAN as well as its AAN hosted the second DIPECHO coordination meeting
partners were engaged in different group discussions and on August 7, 2009. There were 20 participants including
meetings with the communities, discussing with them on DIPECHO managers, representatives from DPNet Nepal,
various issues and motivating the community to take up UNOCHA, MoHA, SCF, AIN and NGOs. ActionAid is
disaster risk reduction initiatives in the field. These contributing significantly to strengthening the DIPECHO
discussions will lead to the formation of REFLECT circles, coordination as well as national level coordination
