Chlorophyll, the main pigment for the absorption of light in plants contains magnesium and helps in photosynthesis. Deficiency of magnesium results into convulsion and neuromuscular irritation. Calcium is present in bones and teeth. It plays important role in neuromuscular function, interneuronal transmission and cell membrane integrity. It is important for blood coagulation.
