2. General Instructions
• Please read each and every question carefully before you answer.
•Verify the answer immediately by re-reading the question. (whether you’ve
used the correct tense, the sentence structure – subject-verb-object, use of
articles before the nouns).
• In case of plural, make the entire sentence plural and not just the subject. Pay
attention to the change in the conjugation of verb according to the change in the
subject.
• For comprehension, read the paragraph at least twice, get the meaning of
what the text is all about and then start answering the questions.
3. General Instructions
• For translation, avoid the spelling mistakes and reformulate the sentences, if
necessary, to get the proper English translation.
Ex: le verbe – verb, le futur – future, l’adresse – address, dans la rue – on the
street, etc.
• Once you finish writing all the answers, go through the answer paper once again
and check for the mistakes: spellings, use of tenses, placement of pronouns,
position of adjectives, conjugation corresponding to the subject, negation,
interrogation, etc.

Most of times the students forget to put the articles before
the nouns.
Nouns
Verify the gender : masculin, féminin
Ex: le magazine, le musée, la tour, le gâteau, le film, la vie, la
soirée, la France
Singular and plural forms : with ‘s’, ‘x’ at the end.

Adjectives
Pay attention to the singular, plural form &
The placement of the adjective : before or after the noun
Ex: la belle chemise, la chemise noire, une petite maison,
les films intéressants.
Adjectifs Possessifs
Exception: Feminine nouns starting with a vowel – Mon amie, ton
école, son adresse.
Démonstratifs –
Exception : Masculine nouns starting with a vowel. - Cet enfant, cet
appartement, cet oiseau.

Pronoms
Sujets : Je, tu, il, elle, nous, vous, ils, elles
Toniques : moi, toi, lui, elle, nous, vous, eux, elles (placed after the preposition)
Objet Direct (COD): quoi ? or qui ?
Objet Indirect (COI) : à qui ?
Placement of pronouns in different tenses and in negation and interrogation.
Accord du participe passé (the past participle agrees with the replaced pronoun)
8. Questions from the Text Book
Identify the subject and the tense used in the question.
For any question having ‘tu’ or ‘vous’, the answer will be in the first person
‘je’ or ‘nous’. (Hence the conjugation will also change!)
Answer only 5 Questions out of 7 (of which you are confident)

10. Letter or composition
Read very carefully: the situation, the person to whom you are
writing, the use of tense, the date, the season, etc.
For composition make sure you include all the points given in the
question and the tense in which you are going to narrate it.
While writing the agenda i.e. Daily routine of a person, please
pay attention to the tense (passé/présent/futur) in which you are
asked to write the same.
