If two batteries are placed in series, what will happen to the measured voltage and current? What if they are placed in parallel? If two batteries are placed in series, what will happen to the measured voltage and current? What if they are placed in parallel? Solution When two batteries are connected in series their total voltage supplied becomes double that is sum of the individual voltages but amperage that is current remains the same. However if they are connected in parallel the total voltage remains the same but current doubles. (Note: Two batteries with different voltages should not be connected in parallel as it may lead to burning the batteries and/or wires as very high current will flow between the batteries as it will lead to two different voltages between two same points across the batteries). Comment if any doubt. .
