Edward "Eddie" Perlman in 2001 launched hedge fund Scottwood Capital Management with his savings and funds from clients and friends. Generating a track record of almost 12% net annualized gains, he attracted enough investors to build Scottwood into a $980 million firm. Today, he manages private funds in-house in the Perlman Family Office after returning all outside client capital July 2011. Opened on December 1, 2012, the Perlman Family Office has topped the S&P 500 and most hedge fund indices four years in a row. Net annualized gain through year-end 2016 was 19.90%, with a Sharpe ratio of 2.34. The firm has been closed to new investors since the beginning of 2016.
