CPS Energy implemented a supply chain analytics project using SAP Business Intelligence (BI) to provide performance metrics and improve various business objectives. The project was executed in iterations, first delivering reports on purchasing document and inventory cycle times. This identified excess inventory and opportunities to reduce costs. Prototyping reports helped define requirements and stakeholders saw early benefits. Lessons included treating BI projects holistically and delivering value incrementally through iterations.
