Lucy Gray from the University of Chicago Urban Education Institute gave a presentation on leadership essentials for technology integration in schools. She outlined key steps leaders must take which include knowing the curriculum and pedagogy, establishing goals for technology use, allocating sufficient resources like time, professional development and support, doing research to inform plans, defining policies to guide implementation, managing stakeholder expectations, planning for long-term sustainability, and continually assessing and adjusting programs based on results and changes. The overall message is that technology alone does not improve learning; leadership must guide its thoughtful and engaged use in classrooms.
