4. Health in Costa Rica Statistics from the World Health Organization's "The World Health Report 1995" place Costa Rica in third place, in life expectancy in the world. Some reasons for this can be found in the Costa Rican laid back lifestyle, the healthy, fresh, non-preservative laden foods of the country, thetropical climate Costa Rica seems to be a healthy place to live.

11. Government take care of health too With a government sponsored network, of 29 hospitals and more than250 clinics, around the country, with the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS) that has primary responsibility for providing low cost, health services, tothe Costa Rican population.
