Thankfully, we have been able to grow our business at 20% year-over-year, and become certified as a
Women Business Enterprise (WBE) in the State of Missouri, over the course of the last 6 years!
8. In the past 6 years, I have presented multiple webinars and taught classes on Social Media
Marketing, so I can anticipate the questions that most small business owners have about
marketing…

relate as how your company, and you personally, can use
social networking as a business tool!

For your company: A way to market your products and
services 24/7 and provide customer service.
For you: You can open up new business
opportunities and find prospective clients
through network building.

For your company: Your competitors are probably
considering how to engage your current and
potential customer, and you lose your advantage!
For you:You risk missing out on marketing your
brand to the next generation of consumers,
especially those who use social networks daily!

Networks, so Why Should I?
For your company: The mobile web, via a smartphone or tablet, is the
most common way for prospective clients to research a company.
For you: Perhaps your clients are already engaging in social networks, but they
don’t see a value in connecting with you? Give them a reason to connect by
sharing information that will help them or elicit an emotional response.

For your company: In addition to your company website, you should also set up a
LinkedIn company page, containing contact information and the products or services you
provide.

another social network?
For your company: LinkedIn is the default social
networking business network. Users are
professionals looking for other professionals and
companies with whom to interact.
For you: LinkedIn is more than just your resume.
It functions as an email account, a research tool,
and a lead generation tool!
23. Question #6: How will LinkedIn, and other social networks help my business?
For both you and your company –Think of a
“Hub and Spokes” where the Hub is your website
and the Spokes are your social networks

Your company website is the “Hub” of all
your activity, where you can direct
potential customers to know, like, and trust
your brand.

For your company – Facebook is a “social” network, so it is most beneficial to Business to
Consumer (B2C) companies.
For you –You may find a business connection on Facebook that you can engage
with on LinkedIn, but it is primarily social in nature.

Now, So Where Does Twitter Fit In?
For your company –Twitter is a great network for
promoting a company brand, through the sharing of links.
For you – Since it is only 140 characters, it is much
easier to post than to write a full blog post. It’s
microblogging that can be searched and followed!

(LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter). How Can I Do
That if I’m Pressed forTime?
For your company –Your company
Facebook page can be integrated into
Hootsuite. Set up accounts with a generic
email address and common password, so
that multiple employees can manage the
feed.
For you –You can create multiple streams and
integrate your LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter
accounts.This is your dashboard and you can open
it automatically when you open your browser.
The Solution – Use a Social
Media Aggregator, like Hootsuite

But Do I Have to Share Them Individually?
For your company –You could create
batches of 4-12 items (pictures, documents,
etc.) that you can share on Hootsuite with 1
URL.
For you – Let your imagination run free.
Create Top 10 lists, hobby batches, etc.
No, you don’t! The Solution – Use SlideBatch

Brand on Social Networks?
For your company –Think of your company social media
policy. It is easier to demonstrate for an employee what
good looks like, rather than policing and regulating online
behavior.

This is the role of Public Relations – “Creating a Buzz” about your company or brand. It
can be as simple as a new hire announcement, which will demonstrate that your company
is growing!

The beauty of using Social Networks for Content
Marketing is that, if you have the time and the capacity,
create your own releases and share them on social
media. It does require basic writing skills couple with
a dose of creativity!

For you –You can create quick videos on your smartphone, but be careful what
you post! A good post is a 30-second testimonial from a happy customer.
YouTube is the second most popular search engine on
the Web. Most people would rather watch than read.
