1. What you Need to
Know About an
Encounter
Pre-Encounter
Lesson 7
2. The Importance of an Encounter
The Encounter is a 3 day retreat, during which time God will
be imparting life to each person who participates.
You must attend the Encounter with an open heart.
Lay aside all types of arguments, wrong concepts, and
prejudices about God because they hinder you from
receiving everything God wants to give you.
3. The Children of Israel had an
Encounter
When the people of Israel were oppressed in
Egypt God raised up a deliverer.
“The God of Hebrews has met with us. Now
let us take a three-day journey into the desert
to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God…”
Exodus 5:3
4. Pharaoh’s Craftiness
Pharaoh called for Moses and said, “I will let
you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God
in the desert, but you must not go very far.
Now pray for me.” Exodus 8:28
Moses and Aaron were driven out of
Pharaoh’s presence. Exodus 10:8-11
5. Remember what Jesus said
Jesus said, “Destroy this temple, and I will
raise it again in three days.” John 2:19
God will do a deep work of transforming each
life.
You will experience death of the old nature
and the resurrection to the newness of life.
6. Why does God ask for three
days?
It is the time necessary for the Holy Spirit to do a
complete work of transforming hearts.
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he
will do this.” Psalm 37:5
Only at an Encounter can we entrust, give and
surrender our whole life to the direction of God.
7. Paul’s Encounter
Before converting to the Lord he was a bitter
persecutor of Christians.
Paul had a revelation of the Cross that brought his
change of heart.
Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ and I
no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live
in the body, I live by faith of the Son of God, who
loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
8. By Attending the Encounter
you will:
1. Receive vision. “…to open your eyes…”
2. Experience a genuine conversion. “…so
that they may turn from darkness to
light…”
3. Understand that you have gone from
Satan’s control to the lordship of Jesus.
“…and from the power of Satan to God…”
9. 4. Understand that through faith in
Jesus, you will receive forgiveness for
your sins. “…so that they may receive
forgiveness of sins…”
5. Understand your privilege in God.
