6. What does self-control look like?

All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a
prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal
prize.

Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in
order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but
we do it for one that will last forever.

7. What are the signs of a lack of self-

control, brutal, not lovers of the good

power, of love and of self-discipline.

God's Spirit doesn't make cowards out of us. The Spirit
gives us power, love, and self-control.

is no law.

The Law of the Lord is a lamp, and its teachings shine
brightly. Correction and self-control will lead you through
life.

be in leadership

For an elder must be a man whose life cannot be spoken
against. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exhibit
self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He
must enjoy having guests in his home and must be able
to teach.

13. 4. Self-Control is the basis of a
godly life.

So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward
to the special blessings that will come to you at the
return of Jesus Christ.

Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to
patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to
godliness.
