Hi all,
Well, it's been a busy old time since we last spoke. Working with my VIP
Islander level clients, helping and advising on their projects, working with
some mentoring clients, plus working on ideas for various projects of my
own, as well as the fact that we have my brother-in-law and his wife over
from the UK on holiday for 2 weeks, so we've been spending some time with
them as well. Busy, busy!
On Friday I had to go to the capital, Nicosia, which is about a 90 minute
drive away and considered by us to be the 'Big City' here in Cyprus. On the
way back Lyn and I stopped off at a place called Governers' Beach, had
lunch and then had a swim in the lovely cool crystal clear waters of the bay
there. A great relief from the 35 degree heat (96 Fahrenheit)!

It's a nice part of the 'internet lifestyle' of course, when you can take days
off in the middle of the week when the beaches are less busy.
There's also been a LOT of eating out (and drinking, of course) just recently.
Even more than usual. We were out yet again last night, this time having
dinner with Mark Vurnum and his partner Lucy. An interesting evening
always ensues when we get together with those two. We tend to swap
marketing ideas and tactics and catch up with what we are all doing in our
own businesses right now etc.
Anyway, as a result of all this 'good living', there is a price to pay. And that
is that, in my case at least, the weight has piled on and it's time to call a
halt and force myself to be a bit more 'sensible' for a change! Damn! I HATE
being sensible!
SO anyway (again)...
At dinner last night, Mark was telling us about a mutual friend and very
successful fellow internet marketer (quite a well known one), who has just
had his third project in a row completely bomb on him. i.e. failed to set the
world alight and all three projects made very little money, despite a LOT of
hard work that had gone into them.
This is the world you don't see. And it's a part that not many successful
marketers will tell you about.
It's something that I have spoken to you about before though, as long term
readers will know.
The fact is, that not every project we do will be a rip-roaring success. In fact
most won't. Some do extremely well, some do good, and some do average.
Some do bloody awful and don't take off at all.
Now here' s the thing ...
What do you think this guy is doing now? Now that his third successive
product has bombed on him? Crying in his milk maybe? Whinging that it's
not fair? Whining that he has spent weeks or months working on those
projects for very little return?
Nope. Not a bit of it. Remember, I said above that he is a 'very successful'
internet marketer. And the reason he is very successful is that he KNOWS

that he won't hit a home run with every product or project. He also doesn't
let a few failures stop him dead in his tracks. He just gets on with the next
project, having learned what he can from the ones that didn't take off.
He continually moves forward in a POSITIVE way and that's why he has had
big successes previously and will do so again in the future. No doubt about
that whatsoever.
And guess what. The big successes when they come along, more than make
up for a few things that don't work. Those successes are the BIG money
earners, or the projects that provide continuous ongoing monthly recurring
income.
You only get to see that kind of financial, 'internet lifestyle' success if you
don't give up at the second, third, fifth or tenth failure though!
Something to think about when working on your own projects, ey?

The Golfing Nun
A nun walks into Mother Superior's office and plunks down into a chair. She lets out a sigh
heavy with frustration.
'What troubles you, Sister?' asked the Mother Superior. 'I thought this was the day you spent
with your family."
'It was,' sighed the Sister. 'And I went to play golf with my brother. We try to play golf as often
as we can. You know I was quite a talented golfer before I devoted my life to Christ.'
'I seem to recall that,' the Mother Superior agreed. 'So I take it your day of recreation was not
relaxing?'
'Far from it,' snorted the Sister. 'In fact, I even took the Lord's name in vain today!'
'Goodness, Sister!' gasped the Mother Superior, astonished. 'You must tell me all about it!'
'Well, we were on the fifth tee...and this hole is a monster, Mother, 540 yard Par 5, with a
nasty dogleg left and a hidden green...and I hit the drive of my life. I creamed it. The sweetest
swing I ever made. And it's flying straight and true, right along the line I wanted...and it hits a
bird in mid flight."
'Oh my!' commiserated the Mother. 'How unfortunate! But surely that didn't make you
blaspheme, Sister!'
'No, that wasn't it,' admitted Sister. 'While I was still trying to fathom what had happened, this
squirrel runs out of the woods, grabs my ball and runs off down the fairway!'
'Oh, that would have made even me blaspheme!' sympathized the Mother.
'But I didn't, Mother!' sobbed the Sister. 'And I was so proud of myself! And while I was
pondering whether this was a sign from God, this hawk swoops out of the sky and grabs the
squirrel and flies off, with my ball still clutched in his paws!'
'So that's when you cursed,' said the Mother with a knowing smile.
'Nope, that wasn't it either,' cried the Sister, anguished, 'because as the hawk started to fly out
of sight, the squirrel started struggling, and the hawk dropped him right there on the green,
and the ball popped out of his paws and rolled to about 18 inches from the cup!'
Mother Superior sat back in her chair, folded her arms across her chest, fixed the Sister with a
baleful stare and said...
"Jesus Christ! You missed the putt, didn't you?"
