3. Concept To give the video a homemade, amature, child like look incorporating cartoon, sketchy overlays. This video is a good source of inspiration -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzN6oJG_5as&feature=related Concept
4. To create a video which complements our song choice in a humorous and childish approach, marketing the band and making it accessible to a large audience. Purpose and desired outcome
5. Audience Our video would appeal to teenagers approx 14-25 interested in indie/rock style music.
6. Overall style and look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJjQWejPiX4 We like this video because the colour scheme and use of animation mixed with real life images was visually interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzN6oJG_5as&feature=related The animation and use of toys and drawings added humour and connotes fun. We also want to include toys to add to the child like approach.
8. Overall style and look This is the type of video we want to be different to as they are high budget, and not fitting with the genre of music we have chosen… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na4x2Uwflmghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dDA1-6RaT0&feature=channel
9. Technology We want to use stop motion animation throughout our music video. We did an experiment to familiarise ourselves with the technology as it was new to both of us…
10.
11. Experiments… This is an example of the type of animation we will use - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm3AUxDjg4E
12. Personnel involved As we intend to use props rather than actors, we won’t need any additional personnel for assistance. The only other people who will need to be involved is the band in order to get a recording of the song.
13. Location… The photography studio in college would be a perfect location to achieve the stop-motion animation successfully as it is a plain white room with no visual distractions, also the lighting is suitable.
14. Dates and schedule Research and planning 18/09/09 - 19/10/09 Organisation of music, equipment etc by 10/10/09 Start filming on 19/10/09 All filming completed by 30/11/09 Post-production 10/11/09 - 14/12/09
15. Likely problems Technical problems - cameras, batteries, lighting etc Availability of the studio space and use of camera Producers prior commitments Health and safety issues: Equipment hazards and related injuries Illnesses, resulting in delayed filming
16. Possible costs As we want our video to have an authentic home made look, the budget will be low and therefore only possible costs are.. Props Damage costs (if necessary) Lighting, set etc
