A Smart Board is the first interactive
white board (SMART Technologies ULC,
2010).
Using this technology engages students in
a teacher’s lesson.
A smart board works with a computer
and projector. There are many games and
software programs that work with the
smart board in the educational setting.

It can be used as a form of taking the
attendance. Teach student to interact
with the boards’ motion sensor, allowing
students will use their finger to drag their
name from the “At Home” column shown
on the board to the “Present” column, to
show they are present at school that day

Document cameras replaced the
overhead projector.
It allows the teacher to project what he
or she is doing at their desk or on a table
onto a screen or smart board for a large
group to see.
Images show up in color, instead of the
shadow black of an overhead projector.

Used for demonstrations to show
students how to do assigned work.
A teacher can freeze-frame the camera
for various teaching purposes.
Worksheets can be frozen, work out
answers on sheet, unfreeze, and show final

It is easy to use like a regular film camera,
without the mess and time of developing
film.
Pictures can be easily downloaded to
your computer and integrated into
classroom activities.

Show pictures to demonstrate how to

literacy stations. For example, sequence
of photos in each center to teach
students how to use manipulatives and
what the station will look like when it is
cleaned up

Computers can be used in a lab setting or in
the student’s classroom.
Many school district have purchased
educational programs and have loaded them
on the machines for student enrichment
activities.

students to interact with. One of the most
