PERFORMERS AND
CASTING
Casting for the Music Video
As a group, we have deliberated over the
casting and have decided that it would be most
practical for us to use the people in our group
for the casting of the performers in the music
video. This is because these people would
have to attend the filming anyway, so they
would be available.
Female Performer
Reliability:
As I am in the group myself, I will be attending all of the
filming sessions. Also, I will be fully invested in the final
product so I would perform to my best.
Desirability:
As I am a teenage girl, this will relate well to the target
audience of our music video. Also, I have an Indie/Folk style
which will attract our music genre audience.
Availability:
As I am part of the group I will be attending the filming
sessions.
The female performer in the music video will be the main
performer. She will lip-sync the lyrics of the song, but also
participate in the narrative part of the video. The female
performer will be played by me. This is for a number of
reasons:
Male Performer
The second most important performer in the music video is the boy.
The boy is dating the girl throughout. This part will be played by
Jamie. This is because:
• Jamie is in our group so he will attend all of
our filming sessions. He will also put effort into
his performance due to it being his Media
coursework.
•Jamie has an Indie fashion sense which will
attract the Indie-Folk audience. It also means
that he has the right clothing for the music
video.
•Jamie and I have a rapport and have
performed with each other before, which will
mean the music video performance should
appear natural.
The ‘Friends’
In our music video, we plan to include shots of how the couple first met. This will be
shot inside a car; we try to insinuate that the couple met through friends, who will be
played by Charley and Ben- both members of the group.
Charley will be available for filming due to her
being part of the group. She also possesses
clothes which are suitable for the Indie-Folk
music genre. Charley is in the right age bracket
for our music video too.
Ben will also be available for filming due to
him being part of the group. As these shots
are set in a car, Ben would be ideal to perform
as the driver as he drives. He also has the
Indie-Folk fashion sense needed for the music
video.
