3. IMAGES
The images I will be using on my website will be of my
models, Neve and Charlotte, as well as, food and
concert photographs - all images will be my own and I
will make sure that the lighting and environment is
suitable and professional looking. Also, I will contact my
models to make sure they are aware of where the need
to be and when and also tell them how to do their hair
and make up. The camera angles I use will emphasis
the location of my outdoor shoot but also I need to
make sure all of my photos look professional as, when I
have been analyzing previous products, the quality of
the images can make the overall product look
unprofessional.
4. LAYOUT
Continuing with a similar house style throughout my
magazine will make my audience comfortable as they
will be familiar with my style and know what to expect.
Keeping my masthead in the same place throughout
every page on my website as well as the navigation bar
and contact page will help the user find their way
around the site and they will know where to find specific
things. I aim to make the hyperlinks on my navigation
bar drop down menus, to make it even easier for my
users to find things. With the way I plan to design my
website, there shouldn’t be a lot of dead space so my
website will look formal and professional instead of
thrown together and incomplete.
5. FONT AND TEXT
Although I haven’t decided on the specific text yet, I
know that I want a formal, easy to read font for my
magazine and I will not be using technical language as I
don’t want to alienate any members of my audience by
using technical language. I will be using a range of fonts
as I need certain things (Masthead,
Headings/Subheadings) to stand out more than other
things (main article/kicker).
6. COLOUR SCHEME
I previously decided on a black and white colour
scheme with a hint of grey and red to make things stand
out, I am going to continue this throughout my
magazine as when researching existing culture
websites, they use a similar colour scheme. I will also
be using these colours in my magazine so the house
style will be continued across my main and ancillary
tasks, this will make it look as if they belong together. As
well as this, all of the colours I have decided upon, look
and work well together and suit my genre of magazine
well.
