Providing oxygen to the water
Filtering the water
Stopping algae
Providing food and shelter for fish, frogs and insects
Keeping the water cool – providing shade

 Can be caught by fisherman
 Provide food for humans, birds and other dam animals

 Attract birds and snakes, who like to feed on them
 Live only in healthy dams
