Berlin im stetigen Wandel. Nur wenige
Orte erinnern noch an den Grenzverlauf.
Auf ehemaligen Brachflächen in Mauer­nähe
stehen heute urbane Büro,-
Geschäfts- und Wohnhäuser. So auch das
Estrel Hotel, das Eigentümer und Bauherr
Ekkehard Streletzki vor 20 Jahren, also nur
fünf Jahre nach Mauerfall, zwei Kilometer
von der ehemaligen Sektorengrenze ent-fernt
als größtes Hotel Deutschlands er-öffnete.
Vor 15 Jahren feierten wir dann
die Eröffnung des 15.000 Quadratmeter
großen Estrel Convention Centers mit
einem Konzert mit dem Weltstar Julio
Iglesias. Ab Herbst setzen wir mit einem
zweiten Veran­staltungskomplex,
der an
die bestehende Convention Hall angrenzt,
erneut ein Zeichen am nationalen sowie
internationalen Tagungsmarkt. Mit der
Fertigstellung der Veranstaltungsräume
wird Berlin dann mit dem CityCube und
dem neuen Estrel Kongress & Messe Center
The Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989
marked the beginning of a new era of
change in the city’s landscape. After 25
years of steady development, there are
few reminders of the old border’s where-abouts.
The urban wastelands that once
encompassed the wall are now home to
contemporary offices, businesses and
residential buildings. The Estrel Hotel,
Germany’s largest hotel, is a prime ex-ample
of this architectural turnover.
When owner Ekkehard Streletzki built
the establishment, it was located only
two kilometres from the former sector
border. Now in its 20th year, we honour the
Estrel’s enduring success and are proud to
announce plans for further growth.
Fifteen years ago, we celebrated a major
landmark in the hotel’s history with the open-ing
of the 15,000-square-metre Estrel Con-vention
Center. The event paid tribute to the
hall’s impressive dimensions with superstar
Julio Iglesias. Next autumn, we plan to make
a splash on both the German and interna-tional
convention market with the addition of
a second event complex next to Convention
Hall I. With the CityCube and the new Estrel
Kongress & Messe Center, Berlin will be in
an ideal position to expand its role in the
international convention marketplace.
Another cornerstone of the Estrel family
is our “Stars in Concert” show produc-tion
series. After 17 seasons, this series
remains a staple of our entertainment
programme. This standard of excellence
is thanks to our team’s tireless efforts
to continue bringing you new, exciting

DAS ESTREL BERLIN ERWEITERT SEINEN VERANSTALTUNGSBEREICH
Mit dem Bau eines zweiten 10.000 Quadratmeter
großen Veranstaltungskomplexes – unmittelbar an das
1999 eröffnete Estrel Convention Center angebunden –
entwickelt sich das Estrel zu einer der größten und
modernsten Kongress-, Messe- und Eventlocation
der Hauptstadt. Bereits ab Herbst 2015 wird der er-weiterte

Eventbereich mit zwei Veranstaltungsräu-men
für hochwertige Großkongresse, Fachtagungen,
Spezialmessen und Events in jeder nur denkbaren
Größe und Konzeption zur Verfügung stehen. Mit die-sem
Schritt steigen auch die Chancen für Berlin, im
Ranking der internationalen Kongressmetropolen
nochmals an Zugkraft zu gewinnen.
Durch die Vergrößerung der Kapazitäten von 15.000
auf 25.000 Quadratmeter Veranstaltungsfläche
sowie der Neupositionierung als „Estrel Kongress &
Messe Center“ setzt das Estrel neue Maßstäbe und
es werden zukünftig die Geschäftsfelder „Kongresse
mit begleitenden Ausstellungen“ sowie „Fach­messen“
ausgebaut. Mit dem Bau wird nicht nur eine
rein qualitative Vergrößerung der Veranstaltungs­fläche
angestrebt, sondern auch eine wesentlich
flexiblere Raumnutzung mit perfekter Infrastruktur
erreicht. So kann in der Convention Hall II zukünftig
eine Großveranstaltung stattfinden, während in der
Convention Hall I ein weiterer Event durchgeführt
wird oder Umbauphasen einer Parallelveranstaltung
laufen. Mit einer Fläche von 4.566 Quadratmetern,
einer Hallenhöhe von 11 Metern, einer Kapazität
für 4.500 Personen sowie einem großzügigen Foyer
bildet künftig die Convention Hall II neben der
bestehenden 4.800 Quadratmeter großen Convention
Hall I das neue Kernstück des Estrel Kongress &
Messe Centers.
Ob internationale, nationale oder lokale Veranstaltung:
Auch zukünftig bietet das Event-Team eine hohe
Serviceorientierung, maßgeschneiderte Konzepte und
eine transparente Leistungs- und Kostenstruktur –
nun nicht mehr nur in XL, sondern schon ab Herbst
2015 dann auch in XXL.

ERFOLGREICHE ESTREL-ROADSHOW
Ob in Hamburg, Heidelberg, München oder Leipzig:
Wo auch immer im Juni der schwarze Bus mit dem
goldenen Estrel-Logo vorbeifuhr, zog er viele Blicke
auf sich. Insgesamt 3.950 Kilometer legte das
Vertriebsteam des Estrel Berlin auf den Straßen
Deutschlands mit dem rollenden Restaurant zurück,
um Meeting- und Eventplaner zu einer kulinarischen
Tour in insgesamt 13 Städten einzuladen. Mit Blick
auf die jeweiligen Wahrzeichen der Stadt – wie den
Hamburger Hafen, das Leipziger Völkerschlachtdenk-mal
oder die abendliche Skyline Frankfurts – ließen
sich die Gäste eine Menükreation aus drei Gängen
schmecken, die in der bordeigenen Küche zubereitet
wurde. Während der Fahrt erhielten die Gäste von den
Sales Managern des Estrel Informationen über die
neuesten Erweiterungspläne des Kongressbereiches
aus erster Hand und lernten im eigens produzierten
Film weitere Estrel-Mitarbeiter kennen, die ihren
Arbeitsplatz auf besondere Art charakterisiert haben.
BIG CHANGES AHEAD
FOR THE ESTREL
The Estrel Berlin has announced plans to build
a second event complex directly adjacent to the
original Estrel Convention Center, whose doors
opened in 1999. The move is aimed at making
the Estrel one of Berlin’s largest state-of-the-art
conference, trade fair and event venues, raising
Berlin’s profile as a host city for international
conventions. Due to the opening in autumn 2015,
the new 10,000-square-metre centre will feature
two distinct spaces designed to flexibly accommo-date
events of all shapes and sizes, from business
conferences to symposiums and special trade fairs.
While the construction will ultimately expand the
Estrel’s event space from 15,000 to 25,000 square
meters, this represents only one way in which the
Estrel is growing. By rebranding as the “Estrel
Kongress & Messe Center”, the Estrel sets new goals
for the future with expanded offerings for trade
shows and conventions featuring exhibitions. The
new addition contributes to the Estrel’s broader
plans to enlarge its overall event capacity with
state-of-the-art infrastructure and to achieve
greater flexibility in the usage of space. For ex-ample,
a future large-scale event could be held in
Convention Hall II while another event is set up or
underway in the 4,800-square-metre Convention
Hall I. Featuring 4,566 square metres of exhibi-tion
space, 11-metre-high ceilings and a spacious
foyer, the new 4,500-person hall will become the
new heart of the Estrel Kongress & Messe Center.

SUCCESS FOR THE ESTREL ROAD SHOW
From Hamburg to Heidelberg, Munich to Leipzig,
the big black bus sporting its gold Estrel logo ga-thered
plenty of looks wherever it went this June.
With the Estrel Berlin sales team on board, this re-staurant
on wheels covered 3,950 kilometres of Ger-man
road, stopping in 13 cities to invite conference
and event planners to join them on a culinary adven-ture.
The tour offered views of each city‘s famous
landmarks, such as the Port of Hamburg, the Monu-ment
to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig, or
Frankfurt‘s night-time skyline, while guests sa-voured
a three-course menu created in the bus‘s
on-board kitchen. During the drive, guests learned
first-hand from the sales managers about the
Estrel‘s newest expansion plans for its conference
facilities. A short film introduced them to other
members of the Estrel staff who have helped make
this world-class hotel complex what it is today.

Unter dem Motto „An morgen denken“ trafen
sich im Mai 2014 im Estrel Convention Center
1.500 Elektrofach- und Großhändler der Ko­­operation
telering zur Jahreshauptversammlung;
darunter auch die wichtigsten Lieferanten, die
sich auf einer begleitenden Messe präsentierten.
Für die Abendgala wurde die Convention Hall
festlich-elegant umdekoriert: Highlights waren
neben dem exklusiven 4-Gänge-Menü, Luft­akrobatik-
Acts sowie der musikalische Auftritt
des „Spandau Ballet“-Sängers Tony Hadley.
In May 2014, 1,500 electrical retailers and
whole­salers
from the telering group met for
their annual general assembly under the banner
“Ready for tomorrow“. Major suppliers, who
were also in attendance, presented their offerings
at an accompanying exhibition. Participants
were greeted in the elegant, festively-decorated
Convention Hall for the evening gala. Highlights
included an exclusive four-course dinner, aerial
acrobatics acts and a musical performance from
Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley.

PartyLite Deutschland feierte seine diesjährige
Nationalkonferenz anlässlich des 20. Jubiläums
im August 2014 im Estrel Convention Center.
Die 2.000 teilnehmenden Beraterinnen und
Berater erlebten neben einem Kongresstag mit
der Vorstellung von Produktneuheiten und
Workshops am Abend eine glanzvolle Dinner-show
in der Convention Hall, bei der die besten
Verkäufer Deutschlands ausgezeichnet wurden.
In August 2014, Berlin’s Estrel Convention
Center was host to PartyLite Deutschland’s 2014
National Conference. The 2,000 consultants in
attendance commemorated the company’s 20th
anniversary with an entertaining and dynamic
schedule featuring workshops and presentations
of new PartyLite products. The celebration did
not stop there; when night falls, attendees
convened in the Convention Hall for a dazzling
dinner show and awards ceremony honouring
the company’s top sales representatives.

The tradition of the Berlin Equestrian Ball will be
brought to life again this year at the Estrel Berlin.
For the first time in many years, on the 22nd of
November, equestrians and riding enthusiasts alike
will exchange their jodhpurs and boots for evening
gowns and tuxedos and take to the dance
floor accompanied by a traditional ballroom band
as well as a DJ. The highlight will be a guest
performance of “Stars in Concert” as well as an
equestrian showcase, both by and for the riders
themselves.

DER REITERBALL
In diesem Jahr lebt die Tradition des Reiterballs in
Berlin wieder neu auf. Am 22. November heißt es im
Estrel Berlin zum ersten Mal seit vielen Jahren für

des King die TCB-Band mit Dennis Jale zwei
Konzerte gibt und am 08. Januar „Elvis – Das Musical“
der Musiklegende ein musikalisches Denkmal setzt.
SPECIAL “STARS IN CONCERT“ SHOWS IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY
It’s time to celebrate with Madonna, Robbie
Williams, Marilyn Monroe and many more. Since
“Stars in Concert” debuted 17 years ago, five mil-lion
spectators have attended this show featuring
top-notch look-and-sound-alike performers.
The longest-running live production in Germany
alongside the acclaimed “Starlight Express”, “Stars
in Concert” owes much of its success to an ever-changing
line-up of powerhouse acts. The latest
addition to this prestigious roster is Shawn Barker,
who will take the stage as Johnny Cash this
autumn. We then slip into the yuletide spirit in late
November with the “Stars in Concert” Christmas
special studded with tunes like “Rockin’ Around
the Christmas Tree” and “We Wish You A Merry
Christmas”. In the post-Christmas run-up to New Year’s
Eve, Grahame Patrick electrifies the Estrel stage with
“Elvis’ Favorite Gospel Songs”. Praised by friends of
Elvis Presley as “the best Elvis since Elvis”, Grahame
Patrick and Presley’s original gospel backing singers
“The Stamps Quartet” will bring you heartrending ver-sions
of the King’s gospel greats including “How Great
Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and “You’ll Never Walk
Alone”. Elvis-mania continues into the new year with a
presentation of “Elvis – The Musical” on 8 January
and two concerts the following day, on what would
have been the King’s 80th birthday, by the TCB Band
featuring Dennis Jale.
