Forestami is a project to plant 3 million trees in the Metropolitan City of Milan by 2030. It aims to involve citizens and businesses to raise awareness of the environmental, economic, and social benefits of urban forestry. The project will map priority areas for tree planting based on factors like permeable surfaces and heat islands. Over 41 interventions have already planted trees across municipalities. Funding comes from donations to the Forestami Fund, which supports tree planting and maintenance projects. Outreach efforts include an advertising campaign and forestry education programs.

3. Mission
Planting 3 million trees by 2030 in the territory of the

The goals of Forestami are:
● to involve all citizens, associations, public and private companies to
contribute with actions that have a positive impact on their own future
and on the future of new generations;

37. The Scuola Forestami
In April the Scuola Forestami project was officially launched
to involve and introduce not only students but also teachers
to the theme of urban forestry. The project includes in-depth
courses and webinars for everyone.
The project launched with Parco Nord is in collaboration
with AXA Italia and is promoted by the Municipality of Milan.
On April 16, it has been presented with an online
press conference in live streaming on the social pages
of Forestami, Parco Nord Milano and AXA Italia.

40. How to support FORESTAMI

41. The Forestami Fund
At the end of 2019, the Forestami Fund was
established on the initiative of the Municipality of
Milan at Fondazione di Comunità Milano Onlus, an
entity part of the network of 16 territorial
foundations of Fondazione Cariplo. The purpose of
the Fund is to support the implementation of the
Forestami Project through the use of private
third-party resources and in collaboration with the
public and private entities involved from time to
time.
It aims to encourage synergies between the public
and private sectors to enhance the heritage of
metropolitan green, promote inclusion and social
cohesion through community projects of plant
redevelopment of the suburbs.
The Fund collects contributions from companies
and citizens who wish to participate in the urban
forestation project.
The Scientific Committee of Forestami makes
proposals to the Board of Directors of the
Fondazione di Comunità Milano regarding the
disbursement of the funds collected, based on the
projects proposed by the Technical Committee. The
resources are directed towards initiatives of
environmental value and interest, encouraging
forms of participation, active citizenship and
solidarity.

Forestami is a participatory and inclusive project in which the support of all is valuable: citizens, public
and private companies, small / medium / large, start-ups, institutions can donate to support the project
financially.
Forestami can be realized only with the participation of everyone.

43. Partnership
Forestami Partners will be able to benefit from awareness, reputation and visibility that will be generated
by all communication activities as well as events promoted and managed by Forestami project itself.
The Partners will also be allowed to use the ForestaMi brand for initiatives that will be promoted and
organized by the Partner itself with focus on environmental issues. These initiatives should be previously
presented and Approved by Forestami Communication Department.
These include initiatives such as:
● volunteer program
● time for charity
● payroll giving

44. Rules for partnerships
Three years duration of the partnership – preferable agreement to take part to Forestami Project:
● Product category exclusive right is not a benefit for our Partners
● Only donations are possible at the moment
● Each donation correspond with a defined number of plants with respect to the amount of the
contribution
● The cost of tree planting and maintenance for 5 years is covered
● It will be possible to indicate a preferred area for the tree planting among the selected ones
