This document provides instructions for making tissue paper flowers that can be used in a Sunday school class. Students are instructed to cut different sizes of tissue paper and use chenille wire stems. The flowers are made by accordion folding stacks of tissue paper in various color patterns and wrapping the stem around the middle. Layers of tissue paper are then pulled up from the sides to form the flower shape. The finished flowers can be used to make bouquets and will last for a long time.
2. Before class cut up some sheets of tissue paper. (I use standard gift
wrapping tissue paper. I’ve found the best value and variety of colors
at a craft store. I fold and cut to desired size(s). Here I have cut two
sizes. The larger size is 6.5 inches x 10 inches. The smaller size is 5
inches x 6.5 inches.)

3. You will also need some chenille wire, green preferred. I use them at
their full length, which is about 12 inches long. You may cut them in
half to make them go further, but your stems will be shorter. The
packet shown here has various colors, but you can often find a pack
containing only green at a craft store.
The following slides contain instructions
for making one flower. You can practice
ahead of time and then demonstrate to
your class, and/or show your students the
slides and have them follow along.
