Chelsey was born in Canada to a non-religious mother and father who was formerly religious. She participated in Buddhist rituals and visited temples while living in Nepal as a child. Though she was exposed to Buddhism, Chelsey now considers herself non-religious and believes that people have a spirit within them that finds itself through life and remains after death, as she experienced with her dog being buried under a tree. She does not follow any religious text like the Bible but believes in finding her own path.
