Description:
The Maintenance and Stormwater Management Division successfully completed the removal of 1,422 square feet
of failing permeable pavers at 8739 Lee Hwy. (Fire Station #30) and replaced them with new Stormcrete permeable
concrete slabs. A 13” high concrete curb was also added on top of the existing curb to prevent water and debris
from the bio-retention facility from backing up onto the permeable pavers in case of heavy rains.
Project Overview:
Removed and disposed of 1,422 square feet of failing permeable pavers and 3” of existing #8 stone.
Constructed a 13” tall concrete curb on top of existing curb to prevent water and debris from backing up onto
the new Stormcrete permeable surface.
Replaced the stone that was removed with 3” of pea stone gravel and placed the new Stormcrete permeable
concrete slabs on top of the pea stone gravel.
Parking space lines were painted onto the new concrete slabs and parking block bumpers were installed.
Parking lot was swept clean of construction debris and opened back up to the fire station for use.
