The primary goals of this project were to address public safety concerns, mitigate the potential for structural flooding to homes along Kaywood Place and improve the hydraulic capacity of the storm drainage system. The project scope included the installation of 350 linear feet of 24-inch diameter and 30-inch diameter polypropylene pipe and the construction of an overland relief swale to divert excess flows during the heavier rain events, which potentially could overwhelm the storm sewer system.

Description:
The Kaywood Place Storm Drainage Improvements project was substantially completed on September 13,
2019. The project consisted of installing 350 linear feet of Polypropylene Pipe and construction of an overland
relief swale. The newly installed system was connected to the existing storm sewer system. By doing this, the
two systems now split and share the runoff from storm events for the 21-acre watershed. The goals of the
project were to address public safety concerns, mitigate the potential for flooding at 3306 Kaywood Place and
improve the performance of the storm sewer infrastructure.
Project Overview:
Install new storm sewer system using Polypropylene Pipe
Construct an overland relief swale above the new storm sewer to account for excess storm flows
Mitigate the threat of flooding at the subject property
