2012 code updates Detached accessory structures, greater than 256 sqft, one story( change from 200sqft). Retaining walls with unbalanced fill greater than 3’ (change from 2’). Fences regardless of height as long as not being used as a swimming pool (aquatic vessel) barrier or required for pedestrian safety. (changed from greater than 6’), concrete and masonry walls greater than 6’ still require permits.
Temporary ramps, less than 30” in height do not require permits.

1- a completed permit application is required to start the process of getting your permit.
2-staff will review your application and related documents to determine if project is in compliance with all applicable codes, laws and ordinances.
3-once determined the application is in compliance and fees are paid the permit will be issued.
4-The permit must be in a prominent location at the project site and a copy of the all the approved documents must be at the site during construction.
5-each major phase of construction must be inspected by a county inspector to include a final inspection when the project is complete.
