Access Management
Study:

urban community
– Advisory group of residents,
businesses, County staff
– 4 public meetings
– Online survey w/ 1,900
participants
– 1 of 7 bike-pedestrian
projects selected for funding
– Plan adopted by BOS in
2011

• Two bridges: 90’ x 12’ and 50’ x

• Marked crossing at Colshire
Meadow Drive
• Federal Funding- Updated project
cost estimate: $2,500,000
• Meets ADA Guidelines for
pedestrian access route: no
slopes greater than 5%

Colonies Condominiums
• Primarily on FC Park Authority
property – some temporary and
permanent easements needed on
adjacent properties
• Lighting:
– Lighting design has not been
completed
– Compatible with designed trails in
Tysons
– Tysons standard fixtures will be used
– Pedestrian scale 14’ -16’ poles
