What to expect in a effective website to have in terms of codes and
conventions?
Website Analysis No.1
James Bay uses an interlinking theme with his newly releasing Music Video, that
aligns in his music videos. This is a good example of crossing themes, that I will
explore when creating my own.
The typography in the
toolbar, corresponds
with the Title, to create a
sense of Brand Identity.
The Title of the Music
Video is displayed in the
mid-section of the page,
where your eyes
naturally aline – creating
a focus.
The theme is star constilations and the
subheading font matches, linking simulatiously
and holding the theme across the page.
The Theme of the page
creates a link to recent
Album redesign.
The use of the image
colour theme having
complimentary colours,
Creating a gentle
eyecatch, whilst
representing the
colours of an evening/
early night sunset,
connotes mellow tones.
The scratchy ink outline
of the portratesof
featured artists such as,
Marshmellow creates a
subtle link to the music
video, whilst creaating a
brand identity.

strong link from website

How has it been
constructed for
maximum appeal?
• Features that allow interaction create an
maximum audience appeal, navigating the
viewers' attention to somewhere,where they
benefit from the artist.The pop-up motion of
the website's scrolling features,create
mobility and freedom of choice, choosing
where you want to be re-directed to,
apposing to finding the music video
manually. The convergence of this page
allows you to view the same format from your
phone, creating equally the same experience
for Mobile phone or tablet users.
How has it been constructed
for maximum appeal?
• The style of an album cover is mimicked here, with lexis choice like 'Next', 'Prev' that
underline in a bright pink highlight, connote vibrance and an alternative color scheme to draw
maximum appeal to viewers,whilst mimicking a album/ Spotify list with the command words,
tactically engaging the audience to download and stream themselves in a click of a mouse, or
finger.
• These fast features appeal to audiences, especially In the demographic of 16-25 year Olds,
as attention spans are timed in milliseconds, meaning easy access to his music and
applications are effective as it doesn’t involve effort or patience.
Navigation Tools
The icons have linked white theme to match the colour theme of
the typography.
The short-cuts to otherpages are
using short form lexis.
The colour scheme of white holds a
simple, clean and supreme design
The time span of loading to access the
external links is 0.2 seconds
The dark blue backdrop
helps the white stand
out and sign- post the
direct links

By having the same featuring sans serif, creates a
corresponding link that relates to the theme of the nealy
released song gives the audience an understang of a
linked website.
'Out Now' helps the audience to go out
check the new single/ act as a reminder.
The sans is different
from Bay's name, but
corresponds with the
theme of stars, the sans
acts like a star
formation, connoting
everything is linked
back to the song and
album.
Interactive Features:
The underlining of the feature words, that
allows the audience to decide how they
want to use these features,is a good
statting point for engaging existing fans or
newcomers.
The underlining draws attention to the
viewer.
The different fonts and buttons are
features of audience gratification.
Second Analysis...
• Tori Kelly has a sense of brand identity,
through use of color and matching logo of
her upcoming album to create a theme.
Layout
• This is different to other websites, as
all the links to view things are in
proximity, instead of scrolling to find
it.
• This is level with the viewers natural
eye gaze, showing everything in a
neat and close nit way, means they
can find extra content, faster.
Images and color
• The color scheme of the website matches the music video, which
creates a link to the two, this is inspiring because Kelly's music
video includes pastel colors that relate to her website, showing the
brand identity.
• The interlinking makes it easy for fans to draw the connection
between the song and the website, showing the brand identity
also.
• The typography is shared to link the two pieces of media together.
How has it been constructed for maximum
appeal?
• Ease of use, access to three external link in the same area of the
page.
• Multi- media aspects via drop links (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,
Spotify)
• Ongoing Brand Identity, with logo present in all areas of the page,
and external links.
• Interactivity - 'Ask me anything!'
• Subscription link to keep informed about new additional content.
Linked in page:
• The transparent photograph of Tori Kelly connotes
her as being open with her fans, in her 'About Me'
section. The color palette is matching of her
homepage and carries the same typography.
• There is a section that includes her own opinion on
her music video/song, and it provides an
insider scope to her as an individual, something
which I intend to do. Instead of having a second
person overview,the use of first person makes a
personal link to the fans and her, herself.
Analysis of 3rd website
Artist, Billie Eilish has created an aesthetically pleasing website through color choice,
that is a running theme of her brand and recent make-over.This is an example of what
color coordination can do to draw fans in.
Website No.3 Analysis..
• The sans is an elegant touch, which
matches her signature, to add a
personal effective touch.
• The video is linked directly below, which
creates a pathway for viewers to see the
video and website are filmy connected.
• Furthermore,lexis like ' Album out now'
isn't underlined or clickbait, which is
subtle but still a reminder, something
which juxtaposes other artists.
How has it
been constructed for maximum appeal?
The crème, nude shade
of the page, is
aesthetically pleasing
for viewers, it subtle to
look at, carries a theme
that corresponds with
her appearance, and
album tones.
The links to external
media sites is shown in
matching colors, which
is subtle but also still
there, showing the
website isn't overtly
about promoting her as
an artist,rather as an
induvial who is based
on gaining status, its
more about what you,
the audience can do
to interact and get out
of it.
The external page has a
moving GIF of the Artist,
which gives dynamic to
the website helping to
give audience appeal
visually.

The two most recent

to the page, making it
accessible for viewers to
follow on to.
The color scheme
matches the aesthetic of
her newly released.

  • 1. Website Research & Analysis What to expect in a effective website to have in terms of codes and conventions?
  • 2. Website Analysis No.1 James Bay uses an interlinking theme with his newly releasing Music Video, that aligns in his music videos. This is a good example of crossing themes, that I will explore when creating my own.
  • 3. The typography in the toolbar, corresponds with the Title, to create a sense of Brand Identity. The Title of the Music Video is displayed in the mid-section of the page, where your eyes naturally aline – creating a focus. The theme is star constilations and the subheading font matches, linking simulatiously and holding the theme across the page. The Theme of the page creates a link to recent Album redesign. The use of the image colour theme having complimentary colours, Creating a gentle eyecatch, whilst representing the colours of an evening/ early night sunset, connotes mellow tones. The scratchy ink outline of the portratesof featured artists such as, Marshmellow creates a subtle link to the music video, whilst creaating a brand identity. Overview of Webpage... The Ink outlines, connote star constilations,that mimik Bay's album, creating a strong link from website to ablum/music video.

The convergence of this page allows you to view the same format from your phone, creating equally the same experience for Mobile phone or tablet users.

How has it been constructed for maximum appeal? • The style of an album cover is mimicked here, with lexis choice like 'Next', 'Prev' that underline in a bright pink highlight, connote vibrance and an alternative color scheme to draw maximum appeal to viewers,whilst mimicking a album/ Spotify list with the command words, tactically engaging the audience to download and stream themselves in a click of a mouse, or finger. • These fast features appeal to audiences, especially In the demographic of 16-25 year Olds, as attention spans are timed in milliseconds, meaning easy access to his music and applications are effective as it doesn’t involve effort or patience.
  • 6. Navigation Tools The icons have linked white theme to match the colour theme of the typography. The short-cuts to otherpages are using short form lexis. 'Out Now' helps the audience to go out check the new single/ act as a reminder. The sans is different from Bay's name, but corresponds with the theme of stars, the sans acts like a star formation, connoting everything is linked back to the song and album.

Interactive Features: The underlining of the feature words, that allows the audience to decide how they want to use these features,is a good statting point for engaging existing fans or newcomers. The underlining draws attention to the viewer. The different fonts and buttons are features of audience gratification.

  • 10. Layout • This is different to other websites, as all the links to view things are in proximity, instead of scrolling to find it. • This is level with the viewers natural eye gaze, showing everything in a neat and close nit way, means they can find extra content, faster.

Images and color • The color scheme of the website matches the music video, which creates a link to the two, this is inspiring because Kelly's music video includes pastel colors that relate to her website, showing the brand identity. • The interlinking makes it easy for fans to draw the connection between the song and the website, showing the brand identity also. • The typography is shared to link the two pieces of media together.

How has it been constructed for maximum appeal? • Ease of use, access to three external link in the same area of the page. • Multi- media aspects via drop links (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify) • Ongoing Brand Identity, with logo present in all areas of the page, and external links. • Interactivity - 'Ask me anything!' • Subscription link to keep informed about new additional content.

The color palette is matching of her homepage and carries the same typography. • There is a section that includes her own opinion on her music video/song, and it provides an insider scope to her as an individual, something which I intend to do. Instead of having a second person overview,the use of first person makes a personal link to the fans and her, herself.
  • 14. Analysis of 3rd website Artist, Billie Eilish has created an aesthetically pleasing website through color choice, that is a running theme of her brand and recent make-over.This is an example of what color coordination can do to draw fans in.

Website No.3 Analysis.. • The sans is an elegant touch, which matches her signature, to add a personal effective touch. • The video is linked directly below, which creates a pathway for viewers to see the video and website are filmy connected. • Furthermore,lexis like ' Album out now' isn't underlined or clickbait, which is subtle but still a reminder, something which juxtaposes other artists.
  • 16. How has it been constructed for maximum appeal? The crème, nude shade of the page, is aesthetically pleasing for viewers, it subtle to look at, carries a theme that corresponds with her appearance, and album tones. The links to external media sites is shown in matching colors, which is subtle but also still there, showing the website isn't overtly about promoting her as an artist,rather as an induvial who is based on gaining status, its more about what you, the audience can do to interact and get out of it. The external page has a moving GIF of the Artist, which gives dynamic to the website helping to give audience appeal visually.
