2. I would like to produce a graphic design
business which uses recycled or
environmentally safe materials, and
holds art classes/ workshops for kids as
well as teenagers and adults.
3. Assorted office furniture(desk, tables,
chairs, filing cabinet).
Two computers and design
hardware/programs(Photoshop, Adobe,
Quirk, Autosketch, Freehand. Etc.)
DSL and Internet connection (Wifi)
Art supplies(Nontoxic paint, recycled
paper, colored pencils, etc.)
4. The people I would like to attract are
business owners who need graphics for
their businesses or people with kids who
like art, and wish to get involved in it.
I’d like it to be a small business in the
downtown area, so I’d probably
promote my services via fliers and other
small-time ads around the area, and on
the Internet as well.
5. My establishment will offer art classes for
kids 9 to 17 and graphic design for
websites, brochures, business cards,
invitations, ads, menus, etc. for
businesses.
My main competition would be other
solo graphic designers, and my products
would be better because they are
environmentally safe and relatively
cheap compared to said competition.
6. My business will be managed by myself,
and I could have some volunteer
college kids to help out with the art
classes.
Money will be made by selling my
graphics services($45-75 depending on
what’s needed) and people paying for
art classes (around $50-60).
7. My business will produce artwork/designs
from strictly recycled materials. I will use
design programs (software) that
conserve energy.
Any scraps made will be recycled, and
the building I will work in shall rely on
electricity, not fossil fuel.
8. The classes I hold will be environmentally
aware as well, and use
Nontoxic paint/markers/ ink
Recycled paper
Earth-based clay
The classes will be centered around
creating things that look good and serve a
purpose, as well as making sure to reduce
carbon footprints, and building new
relationships around a common idea(art).
9. The name of my business will be “Outlook
Design and Art Center”.
I’d like the look to be visually appealing
to parents as well as business owners, in
order to attract both, so creative,
modern and sleek as well as urban, but
not loud and crowded.
10. I’ll start out with Outlook and another job
working for someone else, then see
where I need to go from there ( Am I fine
with Outlook? Should I get another job?)
I intend to have a budget of about $200-
400 every month.
