06 August How to make nice 16x9 DVDs out of a PowerPoint presentation Ever wanted to make an autoplaying, looping DVD that looks good on a widescreen 16:9 display from a powerpoint presentation slide deck? Here is a process in which you can start with powerpoint on a Mac or PC (Office 2007 on Vista PC used for this example)

2. Ever wanted to… Create an autoplay looping DVD that looks good on a 16:9 widescreen display? From a powerpoint slide deck ?? This presentation is set up to show you how to do that (and can be copied as a template)

3. Design->Page Setup 27.09 x 15.24 cm Is 1042 x 576 pixels at 96ppi

4. Save as -> jpeg Save presentation to a folder of sequentially numbered .jpg images Each .jpg image will be 1024x576 pixels

5. Quicktime Player File->Open image sequence Choose first .jpg in sequence 10 seconds per frame Save as quicktime .mov movie

6. iDVD (Mac Only) New project default theme widescreen format Properties – choose PAL or NTSC Quality -> Professional Drag .mov to autoplay box of map view and select Options – Loop Movie
