Komodo dragons have 60 curved teeth that they lose and regrow multiple times throughout their life. They have strong claws and tails to help them climb, kill prey, and stand. As adults, their legs and tails become thicker and stronger to allow them to dig burrows and attack prey by knocking them off balance. Their long forked tongues and strong jaws allow them to smell prey and eat large amounts of meat at once. Komodo dragons have existed for millions of years and live in savannas, rainforests, and snowy mountains on several Indonesian islands, where they hunt deer, water buffalo, and other large animals.
